US Plus member here, but I got one month Eu plus plus trial free from graverobber's post and Man, if this is true, dang. So this is how it feels like being an EU plus member. hah.

Hope US Plus announces something good tomorrow tho.

My gut says Sony's been recompiling all the stuff that's been available in the PSN in the last 2 years for both PS3 and PS4. There are few PSN games that really use the Cell in such a way that it'd be very hard to port over to the PS4, so it's totally feasible. It may even be a requirement now when submitting to PSN.

It's not a requirement. And the architectures are completely different - there's no "quick recompile" to get a PS3 game (even it's PSN) onto the supposed PS4 architecture. It's going to be interesting how both MS/Sony handle backwards compatibility moving forward as it's going to likely suck.

What makes anyone think PS3 backwards compatibility is feasible anyway? People saying "Oh, they can emulate PS3 games like they do PS2 games" as though emulating PS3 games is some minor thing.

It's not at all a simple task, especially if the actual Cell and/or RSX chips are absent. However, it's not outside the realm of possibility, either. Keep in mind that this system has been in development for several years. Also, Sony has experience with backward compatibility on both the hardware and software level. After seeing what has happened throughout multiple revisions of the PS3, I would bet Sony is aware of the challenges in this aspect of hardware design, so that they can plan ahead accordingly.

I haven't had the PS3 since November. Just got the White one with a Year of Plus today. So much downloading. I'll be here until next week!

Hahaha!

Lumines and Wipeout would be bad for me, good for everyone else (I already own both physically). As a selfish man, I hope it doesn't happen. ;)

It can't be any worse than January, surely :P

You'd hope not. Really bad month. I only bothered downloading JSR and Pinball Arcade, and didn't like either.

@TheVitaLounge No, no Foosball for EU

@Sid_Gafer Two Vita games for you this month, both real gems.

I guess he didn't exactly say that the list was wrong though. Every other tweet he's said that it's wrong... but with that one, he didn't. So, could be right i suppose :p

I already owned Pinball... so it was just JSR for me ;_;

I have PSN+ for some month now but only recently tried the automatic download-feature and I'm confused.
For the first 3 days I got a message when I started my PS3 with a list of patches that it has downloaded. Why didn't it download all those patches on one day? Instead of 3 on the first, 3 on the second and 1 on the third day (all of them weren't recently released).
And after that it apparently stopped working. No message when I start my PS3 for the last 4 days and no new patches loaded.
But when I played Dark Souls I was asked to download a patch. Why didn't PSN+ downloaded that? Is there some kind of logic what games get automatic patches and which doesn't? Last time I played Dark Souls was before I had PSN+ if that's the problem.
And no saves uploaded either. I enabled it for Sleeping Dogs because it has copy protected saves. Or does the automatic upload not work with copy protected saves?

First question - it only stays on for 2 hours so probably didn't have time to download all of the patches in one night.
Second (Dark Souls) it only checks games you've recently played. If you hadn't played Dark Souls lately (or had never played it) it wouldn't have been checked, so the patch wouldn't have been downloaded. I believe it checks the last 10 games you played.
As for copy protected saves, i have no idea. Is "Upload save data" option selected from your automatic update setting?

As someone who only bought GT5 and LBP2 as retail titles with his PS3 and rents everything else (bought some digital games) they can put whatever on PS+ (EU) and i'm happy.

Fighting my PS+ backlog atm . Just finished Vanquish and started Bioshock 2. Arkham and the fighting challenges are dragging me back though.

And "hi" at EU blog :). Keep revenging the dark age of US > EU PSN mismatches. In other words... Sleeping Dogs please !

Quick question - I own Wipeout 2048 retail, with both the HD and Fury DLC expansion packs.

If it's one of this month's games, I can use that DLC with the digital version too, right?

Will probably trade in Wipeout if I can since it'd be "free" through Plus.

Yup, should be no problem AFAIK

Thank you :)
The 10 games limit explains the Dark Souls patch. I played more than that in between.
Yes upload save data is always enabled in the option and in addition has to be enabled for each game.

Yeah i was just checking you had it set to upload the saves :P I have no idea then. Only thing i can think of is that it doesn't do it with copy protected saves...

hmm, what have I bought on vita recently? they always come up. I bought JSR and two weeks later it was announced for PS+. I bet its EDF just to fuck me off.

pretty much the only two games I don't already have but would still quite like are Escape Plan (likely future PS+ title IMO) and Little Kings Story (never).

Did you play Sleeping Dogs after you enabled it? It only uploads save files that changed since the "last time" (or since you enabled the feature).

oh that could explain it :o I enabled it in the XMB after I finished the game for that day and didn't have the time to play it since.
Thanks :)

Escape Plan will almost certainly be free at some point. Good bit of DLC for it, so it makes sense :p

I'm hoping LKS doesn't come up as my copy arrived from Tesco at the weekend, great game.

Personally I would like to see Escape Plan and maybe Lumines, I have retail version but wouldn't mind having it always on the go.

If you wanted to make sure it goes up you could find it in the saves folder and then hit the triangle and copy to PS+

I have a nice catalog of titles from the US PS+ but would love to see a great surprise this week, come on SCEA I know you can do it!

Great. I just found out that the German PSN store does not have "Sleeping Dogs", not even the censored version which is available in German retail stores. Would be sad to miss out on this... hopefully those two Vita games are good.

Ha, another Batman game for us!
