PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

Would be happy with the update....if I had a Vita. Suppose it's no big deal, picked up Nights, Jak and Jet Set Radio during the sale and I've only started Jak.

Look at the improvement: Chronovolt -> Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Hopefully that's in the positive direction!

Also, this is end-of-January not beginning-of-February for SCEA people.

When they put up games without trophies they always get a ton of complaints.
As has been mentioned, Folklore isn't actually available on PSN. Fantastic game it may be, but you have to assume the demand isn't there for it either.

I have the US physical version but I'd double dip for a trophy enabled PSN version. <3

Awesome. Excited for Ninja Gaiden! Yeah people are definitely over reacting right now since this is the last week of January and not the start of February. Then again this always happens. Even if they put something great up next month people will still groan haha.

Woah, I thought the rumour of the February update for EU PS+ was too good to be true, but turns out it was.

Ninja Gaiden Σ Plus for US is pretty great, too.

Edit: Oh wait, so NG still counts as a January game? Nice.

Honestly the Madden bit is pretty insulting. Waiting till the week of the Super Bowl. Really? lol.

Would rather have Sleepy Dogs but I'll settle for this. At least its better than Chronovolt.

I just think they should at least put something small up for non-Vita owners on the Vita-only weeks. Like, just a Mini or PSOne Classic.

the vita stuff isn't taking away any ps3 stuff, the updates are pretty much the same as they were before the vita updates. Now instead of having really crappy weeks at the end of the month we get vita games instead, they don't need to compensate ps3 owners just because they are giving stuff to the vita as well.

that being said I wouldn't mind seeing more ps1 classics at all as they work on both the vita and ps3 and thus would make both sides happy assuming the games aren't complete garbage.

Wow, Sigma Plus is an ace addition.

I never thought the US had a chance at topping EU this month, but that's a damn fine start.

it's actually the finish not the start this is January's update still. meaning the final game lists are
EU
Bioshock 2
Guardians of Middle Earth
Mortal Kombat – excluding Australia and Germany
Gotham City Imposters – Australia and Germany only
Jet Set Radio (PS Vita)
Pinball Arcade (PS Vita)

NA
NBA JAM On Fire Edition (PS3)
Chronovolt (PS Vita)
Mega Man 9 and 10 Combo Pack
NCAA Football 13: Recent Winners Pack
Darksiders
Foosball (ps3/psv)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus(ps vita)

Why would that stop them putting it on PSN? Lol.

So nothing this week if you don't own a Vita? Jeez that's a pretty scummy move :/

Not like I should expect better from our terrible PS+ team, but fuck that sucks.

They really need to switch back to the monthly previews, this week by week drip feeding just isn't working. January doesn't sound bad at all when you pool it all together.

PS3:
 • NBA Jam: On Fire Edition
 • Megaman 9 &10
 • Darksiders (EU June)
 • Foosball

PSV:
 • Chronovolt (EU Nov)
 • Foosball
 • Ninja Gaiden Sigma

Jan EU for comparison sake:

PS3:
 • Bioshock 2 (NA Dec)
 • Guardians of Middle Earth
 • Mortal Kombat – excluding Australia and Germany
 • Gotham City Imposters – Australia and Germany only (NA July)

PSV:
 • Jet Set Radio (NA Dec)
 • Pinball Arcade

Oh shit, haha.

US wins.

US actually had a MUCH better month than EU. But like you say, trickling the info out slowly makes it seem the opposite. I don't understand the logic.

Not like I should expect better from our terrible PS+ team, but fuck that sucks.

it's the same exact way it was before the vita updates, the last update almost never had a game in it at the end of the month, and it's not like EU is currently set to get anything in the last week of January or February either.

A port of an old game that has a broken frame rate? I'm waiting to see the positive part of that.

It isn't really all that much different from other stuff people like to rave about that is just old and has very similar frame rate issues. The vast majority of console games run closer to 30fps then they do 60.

I'm relatively new to PS+ (entering my 3rd month) so it might be a stupid question but when do we hear what the first week of February stuff for NA is and when does it become available to download?

I'm ashamed to say I had to beat Ninja Gaiden Sigma on Ninja Dog difficulty on PS3 mostly because the camera is really awful. I felt it was more like a Normal mode rather than a Easy mode, though.

I would gladly try Normal mode again on NGS+ (I don't own Sigma PS3 anymore) if I can spare some time in the future. Also, Ninja Dog mode was replaced (not 100% sure) with Hero mode in NGS+ and I refuse to play a watered down version.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Ninja Dog mode in NGS didn't offer infinite Ninpo and auto-evade. That's what Hero mode gives you in NGS+. Is it confirmed that Ninja Dog mode doesn't exist in NGS+ ?

the first week of feb stuff will be announced the monday before the first feb update and released on that update.
NA only knows what they are getting a day in advance.

I actually prefer they update it once a week. So I have something to look forward to every Monday.

If they do it monthly and announce some shit in the beginning of month, I will have to wait a month to see what's next.

Perhaps I'm just getting old and my memory is fuzzy, but I recall the opposite reaction back when they did a month at a time. People would read the monthly update, and then complain about how awful it would be to suffer through a whole month knowing how crappy it was.

So they switched to weekly. And now people complain about how awful a week is without (see Killthee's post above) how on a monthly basis things aren't as inequal (in January 2012, as an example) as it might seem.

I'd rather have weekly. Not only does it get me more hyped each week (always something to look forward to), but I end up checking this thread more often too. =P

their switch if i recall right had more to do with them announcing some plus stuff that didn't actually happen and caused a lot of mad sony customers so they switched to weekly to avoid announcing anything that won't for sure happen.

I personally like the weekly updates myself as it gives me something to look forward to, but as I said earlier it does result in comparison problems. The start of the month is compared to the whole EU list, and the end of the month is compared to the next month's EU list... the end result is the NA PS+ is often having 1-2 weeks compared to whole months of EU plus and when you do that of course it seems lopsided to EU. When you compare them month by month it's not nearly as lopsided. Eu does indeed get more retail games, but just because they aren't retail doesn't mean releases like megaman 9/10 or quantum conundrum (which NA got back in Nov and EU is getting next month) are bad.
