Man, not even any games on sale look good...That knytt game has pretty looking environments while everything else looks like it's out of some newgrounds flash game...one's an ios game(Karateka) and the other doesn't look fun(bigsky). I wanna download the guardians game but apparently the online was never fixed.

Rare for me to be envious of the EU updates since there's usually at least ONE thing I like from our updates but not a single thing here, shame :/.

Also the first couple comments on the blog made me laugh

Terrible update. We want Sleeping Dogs.
I agree with post 1

All three of you, go get jobs and buy it it’s like 40 bucks. Stop complaining.

Yeeeeep zero interest again. I still love checking every week, but man it's been a while since I've played more than 5 minutes of a game I got from PS+. Last was probably Double Dragon.

mehhh
hahahaHAHAHA. I don't even know why I check every week anymore.

Europe is Sony Land, we're 2nd class citizen in MURIKA :(

and Asia PS+ are bottom tier

And yet supposedly they're still releasing the PS4 in the US first while we'll have to wait until next year. Weird. Also PS Plus is £39.99 for an annual membership in the UK, which is just under $63. We pay more for our better games!

Normally I turn my PS3 on every Wednesday just to check what I'm getting with PS Plus and to buy/add to Download List anything interesting.

This week it'll be 2 months since I have done so. And to think I've paid until Summer 2014 for this shit.

That's another bad lineup for the US. We've had most of them in the EU, and the ones I played were poor.

Guardians is especially bad. It's far to slow and once you get through the painfull tutorial, you find that loads of the game is locked to microtransactions anyway.

It would have been fine as a F2P game, it pretty much is anyway. Charging for it was stupid.

And that matchmaking...not worth it at all. Even for free it's not worth playing.

Guardians of Middle Earth was that game Giant Bomb Quick-Looked back in December, like a Dota game. It looks interesting. Glad I can try out something new rather than just have digital versions of things I already own.

Might bight on Kyntt... and maaaaybe Big Sky.

Good update.

Edit: Dear pete, it's the same with you guys at the beginning of every month; you see what Europe is getting for the whole month, then when the US starts with its weekly updates, you throw a hissy fit because it's not as good as EU's entire month. Grow up.

I think it's more about not having faith that any future weekly updates will be any good either, so every poor weekly update just reinforces that. Looking back at past full months doesn't exactly inspire confidence going forward.

I never even got into a match on Guardians. Spent a while looking and then gave up and this was a couple of days after it appeared on Plus. Admittedly I wasn't eager to wait too long after playing through the tutorial.

BigSkyInfinity seemed like a confusing mess to me but maybe that's due to me not paying attention. Enjoyed it slightly more when I turned off the most appalling announcer I've ever heard in a videogame.

Knytt Underground was alright though - once you get to grips with what's going on it's a pleasant enough timewaster - not sure I'd pay for it though.

Will try the free game, but initially not interested.

For those of you wondering about Karateka, here is my take.

It tells the stories of three men who long for the same beautiful woman, captured by a warlord and held captive in a fortress. Each man, starting with the woman's true love, has an opportunity to save her. He, alas, has the most difficult challenge, while the ascetic monk who comes behind him -- should the true love fail -- has it somewhat easier. The crass brute, who arrives should the monk fail, is even stronger and has an even easier road.

The ending, naturally, depends on which man rescues the woman.

The game takes the old idea of the 8-bit game and mixes it with a rhythm game, where the battle is won by being able to hear audio cues and responding with the appropriate pattern of defensive moves and offensive strikes. There are some clever variations on this, and it is a difficult game. I have finished only on the brute and the monk. I have gotten nearly to the final battle with the true love, but I can't imagine I will ever win.

Some have complained about the animation, graphics, and so forth. These are ancillary. They tell the story and represent the action just fine. Deal with it.

There are, however a few bugs. I have had my copy lock up at least a half-dozen times. I also encountered a bizarre bug where an enemy ran behind me and kept running and the camera zoomed out further and further trying to keep us both in view. Very strange.

For $10, I got my money's worth, but I was dedicated to enjoying it. I don't believe that most people would want to pay $10, but at $5, it's getting close to a good buy.

Read other reviews for other opinions.
I think I have this trophy. I probably had 29 minutes on the clock. It took me 2-3 full games, losing the brute at the end of each. Perhaps I just suck? Hard to know.

Yeah it does seem ok for $5, and its based on a game by J. Mechner, altho it doesn't seem to have had any involvement from him.

Knytt is a game I installed, and played for one hour. I than uninstalled and never thought of again. This isn't a review, but lets just say its first impression was not for me.

Here we go again with the disappointment. Next update when Sony drops a good game, all is forgiven.

I have enough of a backlog that this isn't on my future download list. Don't like MOBA all that much either. Still a good update.

With the announcement coming on the 20th, I'm keeping more of an eye on that.

It's in times like these that being both EU and US PS+ member sucks :/
I already have GoME, so I guess I'll wait for next week's content.

I'm not sure how long Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus has been a freebie for Vita, but I gave it a download over the weekend and started playing it. It actually surprised me in terms of how much I've been playing it. Although I'll be the first to admit that I'm playing it on "hero mode" aka ninja dog difficulty. Never been terribly good at NG games.

I'm not 100% sure about that. I've read that Hero mode gives you infinite ninpo and auto-evade on low health. Unless they changed the Ninja Dog difficulty from the original Sigma, it's harder than Hero Mode.
You have more items and maybe the enemies hit less hard (than in Normal mode). That's all. It's pretty much like Normal difficulty of other similar games like Devil May Cry or God of War.
I haven't tried Hero but just reading what that mode consists of made me laugh. I don't want to play a game like that.

I went ahead and bit on the 500GB classic white bundle today that comes a a free year of Plus. Will be looking forward to taking advantage of that.

I am pretty alright with this update, guardians of middle earth is exactly the type of game I want to try out some day but only if it's like $2 on steam or free like this.

I don't understand why everyone is posting all these conflicting opinions on games and the service. Can't we just decide to hate PS+ and Karateka and move on? Jeez.

;)

Honestly confused about whether Knytt Underground is supposed to be good or bad. Sounds divisive! Like PS+!

is it just me because i have a feeling we might get skyrim for free next week. i mean it has left a bad taste for majority of ps3 gamers and now they are finally releasing dlc for 50% for a week and i doubt a lot of people held on to their skyrim copies after being neglected all this time. now people get the game for free and then they get to sell the dlc and make some money. well thats just an educated guess and it would be smart on bethesda especially to get some love back from ps3 players and a good business move as well. hope sony pitched the idea as well.

I don't think matchmaking is a problem at all as I had no problem finding games when I played it. I did, however, have problems with the clunky control scheme
and the franchise tie-in
. MOBA games are just better fitted for the m/k setup where targeting and maneuvering become more precise.

Depends entirely on how confident they are the patches are solid. I have a friend who played through Skyrim on the PS3 multiple times with no complaints. He had heard of the slowdown problems but he never ran into them, although he might be more forgiving than most since he was playing on a 50" high-end HDTV with composite cables.

They'll also have to spend a lot of time convincing people to actually try the game again, even for free, and they'll have to fight the perception of PS+ becoming a dumping ground for bad ports. Other than that, it's not a bad idea.

SCEA could easily solve this problem by showing the entire month like they used to, but, alas, that would reveal the rampant mediocrity of the selected titles. Anyway, it's easier to string people along from week to week than from month to month. Got to keep that hope alive; maybe next week will be better?

I had few problems finding a game. I had problems when it told me I had to wait 3 - 5 minutes to actually enter those games.

The way they queue you up with a lengthy timer is bad. It would almost be better if I had to wait the same time but it didn't tell me lol. Almost.

It is just far, far to slow for the type of game it's trying to be.

GoME is basically a waste land online last I checkd. Maybe with US Plussers it will get a surge of users, though I doubt it.

Knytt Underground is great.
There's a good amount of freedom (like any Metroidvania) and controls are responsive.
Story is average, but I still enjoyed the game.

Last weeks update got a lot of people excited.

So I'm selling uncharted golden abyss and ninja gaiden + this week and getting a year sub with the money. I practically don't lose anything since they're free games with the service, get new vita games I was going to purchase anyway, and catch up with all the ps3 games I missed on in the last 2 years. Sony might be on to something with this service.

I would be pleasantly surprised if they did that, but I'm leaning towards them releasing some WB retail game Euro PS+ has already gotten. Something like Batman: AC or Mortal Kombat.

Fucking hell. Why do I bother?

What the hell is it with SCEA?

It's like B grade to EU's A grade selection.

EU - Vanquish, MK, Sleeping Dogs.

US - NBA Jam, Darksiders (solid, but old as shit), and Lord of the Shit.

Can you play Euro PS+ content, sourced through an on-device Euro account, with a U.S user account?

Yes you can, but it sucks that you have to jump through hoops.

I don't think it would help, maybe a little. A whole month of shit is still shit.

I'll check out Guardians for free. I'm still kind of glad that it's been lower recognition games that SCEA has been putting out since I have a lot of the EU ones already.

It would help get the anger over with at the start of the month instead of repeated disappointments each week. That's why I can't understand why they insist on doing it this way.
