PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

I played it a bit today and just held the Vita with my left hand (thumb over Sony, pinky along the bottom edge, index along the top edge and the other two straight along the back) and used my right index finger on the screen. I didn't have a problem with it that way and it was easy to shake the Vita to collect sun/coins.

Yeah, I did something similar. It's just a bit too bulky and heavy, though, and leads quickly to wrist strain.

Maybe I'm just too weak.

Edit: Actually, I was holding it towards the middle, thumb on the bottom and first two fingers on the top around the camera. Your way is better with regards to strain, but feels a bit unbalanced.

Maybe your fingers are too short for that way? My middle and ring fingers almost touch the right grip on the back.

Anyone know if PAL PSN saves work on NA PSN games? Just beat Vanquish and Sleeping Dogs with my free PAL PS+ and looking to play a bit more eventually but my PAL PS+ promo ends soon.

I doubt it - game saves (often) don't even work between retail & PSN and DLC def doesn't work so as I say, highly unlikely.

Sony didn't take any PS3 game away from you. They added Vita games for the same price you were paying.

Send them an email saying that you are paying 50$ just for PS3 games. They will gladly take away those annoying Vita games from you and you can still pay 50$.

Obviously they had the budget and room to add even more ps3 games but they chose the vita instead. Hopefully they will abandon this practice when they see that nothing can save the vita.

Actually, I will admit that I wonder just how they do this - I can't see the revenue from Vita-only Plus users being sufficiently high to fund the extra Vita releases. I assume it's not a unified budget, and internally they have a distinct PS3 and Vita budget; if we assume that the PS3 budget has remained intact but now had a Vita budget added in conjunction with it, just where is the funding coming from for the Vita budget?

I *suspect* that it's accounted for as a promotional cost; I can see why Sony would reason that it might be a reasonable loss-leader strategy, giving lots of PS3 owners Vita games that they only have to purchase a Vita to play...

PSN Plus normally just mimics my latest LoveFilm rentals so I'm guessing it's going to be Darkness II.

As a small aside, there, I'm slightly surprised Sony have never added movies to Plus. It's something they're in a position to offer. It might be reluctance to be seen as anything other than a gaming service for image reasons.

As far as I know, save data is region locked.

When I was developing, it was less 'save data is region locked' and more 'small incompatabilities between regional versions meant save data didn't work on other systems'. The same end result, but a different reason. It might *actually* be region locked these days, though.

Edit: Holy spammage, Batman! Sorry 'bout that.

Okay, so, clarify this for me

I get PSN+ and I TRY to download a free game, like Sleeping Dogs now, but I can't for whatever reason, not enough space for example. It still registers it as purchased and adds it to my download history list. Now, can I still download that game from that list for free next month or later, when it's not in the instant game collection list any more, as long as I have my PSN+ subscription? The free games change monthly, right?

Very nice. I have a voucher for 30 days of PlayStation Plus that expires on March 31st. What would be the best time to activate it?

Depends what you want. Take a look at what's on offer now for February, if that interests you, use it now and download February's content, enjoy it, and get what you can out of March. If next month excites you more, use it just before it expires, I guess, then we'll see what we get for April. You might not get the full April content but you'd get some of it.

Basically, only activate it if February's content is what you want, otherwise, use it just before GoW HD expires (if you want that). If you don't want GoW HD, wait until sometime during March so that you get the widest possibility of content.

Yes, as long as you are a subscriber, you can download anything you've registered as 'purchased', at any time, even if it's not in the IGC. It will be in your download list. Hope that helps you. :)

Calling all PS Plus members. Boy, have we got a little treat to share with you today! To celebrate the launch of God of War: Ascension next month, we have managed to secure God of War 1 HD for our PlayStation Plus members to download and keep for as long as you are a member, at no extra cost!
There is a little catch though – it’s only available for two weeks from today, Wednesday 27th February, so make sure you grab it while you can as once it’s gone, it’s gone.
Like I said, we wanted to give this classic PS2 title away to celebrate the upcoming launch of God of War: Ascension, its immediate prequel. Ascension is a riveting, visceral experience that tells the dark past of our hero Kratos. The story will enthral you with epic, brutal and gloriously over-the-top action, retaining the signature gameplay of this storied franchise in a fully-fledged single-player campaign.
But that’s not all. For the first time, you can now take the larger-than-life God of War combat online with our new solo and team-based multiplayer experience.

Played that on the ps2 and re-played the HD remake to the platinum so not that big a deal for me, but if a person on this thread exists that hasn't played this yet, no more excuses :P

edit: just saw the fuzzy post. lol, I suck :P

@Muntu:
Yes, and yes. You don't even have to start the download. All you need to do is "purchase" them for free and then they'll stay in your download list as long as you're a subscriber.

For some reason I wasn't expecting God of War HD to be so large. 9gb is a hefty download, will have to leave my ps3 on overnight.

Oh wow, that's way more awesome than I thought lol

I should have checked PSN+ out before, time to cancel my XBLive Gold and get PSN+ instead. Thanks Monosukoi and archnemesis!

I don't suppose anyone knows (or could guess) how big the download for Mass Effect 3 could be?

9GB?! Yikes. Time to delete Mortal Kombat to make room.

Purchased it, but never got around to playing it. I sold it off a couple of weeks ago.

Now I get it again as part of the subscription! Bonus! Now I can get back to not playing it (I have played the original)

PS+ is seriously amazing. Pretty sure nobody thought they would have full retail games that are new like Sleeping Dogs available for a small fee. Downloading R&C All 4 One as we speak for some co-op fun!

Happy to see that they will keep it for PS4.

Ever since I started buying/getting a lot of games from the PSN store I have to micromanage all my system resources (I have an 80 gig) which is pretty annoying.

You should also look at your game data (where game installs go) and delete old game installs you don't use anymore (not the save files, the installs). As for your save files, Plus Cloud saves are a thing of beauty!!! :-P backup everything on the cloud and delete the ones you don't need from your hard drive.

Lol. I love hoarding Plus games. All those games they're giving me, of which most I'll never play.

You should give GoW a go though, it's a fun platinum!

It really is. And not just the games they give for 'free'. The discounts I've experienced so far made it really hard for me to resist going for them. Really great prices and great content these last few months. Sony nailed it with Playstation Plus.

Lets just hope they keep it this way for the ps4. Keep online gaming free and add value for paying subs in the format of PS+!!

Excellent advice, considering the install size of some games. Gran Turismo is taking up around 12gb of my 160gb slim I think, but I keep it on there because occasionally it's nice to fire it up and play. I should really delete it though.

Yup, just noticed the cloud save service. The good thing is, I tend to play at most two games at the same time so I'll probably manage with the smaller hdd. Download a game, finish it and delete it. Start downloading the next one.

The little Playstation 1 loving 8-year old child inside me is giggling, I have a feeling I'll go on full Playstation fuck yes mode next gen again, like I did with PS2.

I'll get God of War the last day or something then. Thanks!

Fun isn't what I'd describe having to complete the Challenge of the Gods. I'd probably do it if I could save part way through doing those challenges.

I really enjoyed that actually!

Most fun platinum is definitely the speed run though. Turned out it was pretty easy, but running like hell through everything (especially the later parts) was pretty intense, lol

Oh well, it turned out to be true lol.
I feel bad after all the things I said yesterday, trying to explain it wouldn't probably be this game :/

It's recommended that, every time a new game is added to the IGC, you "purchase" it so you don't forget, then just download it off your download list :) That way you don't miss anything! You can "purchase" them through the PSN webstore too at store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com
