PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

Can't complain about Okami. I've been thinking of buying the HD version for a while now as an upgrade to my PS2 copy, and there's a hell of a lot of game in there.

What about US PS+ do we get to know the games in advance as well? I want to buy something else to hit $50 in March, but I'd like to know what's coming first.

I'm still not sure if I should play Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward before 999 (a game that was never released here and tbh I dunno if I bother importing a DS game this late).

Cool update nevertheless. Interested for both LOTR and Okami.

Ok fellow GAFfers I already own War in the North and you guys must play this game! It gives you a old school vibe there was much love when this game was made, they even performed in E3 with their good soundtrack. Great game to play on winter. You can play it co-op. Play it!

Aside of that, will pick up the other titles. Okami will be a fun experience and I need to search about the Vita titles. What's GAF opinion on those Vita games? (I only got a PS Vita last week)
VLR is amazing, but you really need to play 999 on DS first. The first is one of the most well crafted stories I've ever played in a game. As a last resort you could YouTube it or something, but then you'd lose a massive part of what makes the True End so great

I don't think you'd get the full impact from watching a playthrough.

Hmmm, anyway. I have VLR 3DS but the talk of bugs put me off getting around to start it somewhat. Trouble is, I like 3D. Bug-free or 3D?

Okami HD for me, can't wait - never played the original!

Didn't enjoy the demo of The Cave on XBLA, but at least now I get to try the full game.

Bug free. There's nothing worse than playing a game while being paranoid something will go wrong. Ruins the experience. Besides you'd get 3 save slots intstead of 1, and a generally cleaner and sharper look

I haven't played any of those. I've been close to buying Okami for a while and both The Cave and Thomas was Alone sound interesting.

...and I still have so many games from PS+ I haven't even started yet!

I'm glad this is EU update and not the next US one, an update can't really get any worse then that in my case.

Already have Okami HD, LotR:WitN and VLR. Have zero interest whatsoever in the other two.

Hoping that US PS+ continues to not go crazy on the more known, popular among enthusiasts stuff as I simply own way to much of those kinds of games already.

I had a very different experience with the game... But hey, this is what PS+ is all about, people can try for themselves.

Yes fellow GAFfer, I know it's not a much loved game and it's not a great one but I actually had a great fun playing and it's fun that I found out a couple of others that enjoyed. But I can see why many people disliked. I also played after all the patches, so no bugs found. Maybe it was because I was missing some Baldur's Gate action when I started playing this game.

My PS Vita was a birthday present to myself. It's my second Portable Console, ever. My first was a Silver Game Boy Pocket when it released. As much as I would like I don't own a DS or 3DS and it's a shame... but I have no other chance than to skip 999.

:(

How many hours does it take to finish 999? If it isn't too much I guess I will play it before VLR.

VLR!!! That's motivation for me to start my copy of 999.
Okami HD!! I still haven't played this!
The Cave! Good thing I waited.
Thomas Was Alone, nice.
...and some LOTR game.

Wow.

Already have Virtue's Last Reward and the PC version of Thomas Was Alone, but digital PS copies will still be appreciated. Cave and Okami for me, I'll still call this a good month (largely because aforementioned games that I own are goooooooooooooooooooooooood).

Been a while 15-20? It's shorter than VLR by some distance. You have to get all endings though to get the full picture

Thanks, eight hours in three weeks should be possible. :)

Yeah I wouldn't do that. Getting the first ending of 8 hours (it should actually be a decent amount less than that), won't really tell you anything. At that point you may as well ignore 999 altogether. It's the final ending that has all the revelations that lead Into the sequel

If you really can't find a way to play it, you could find a Let's Play or YouTube it or something. I know people have played and enjoyed VLR without 999, but I'd strongly suggest against going into the 2nd game blind

War in the North is made by the same devs that made the champions of norath games. Definitely worth playing. Unfortunately, it does have a game breaking bug about 3/4 through. Hopefully you won't run into that.

Wow, just wow.

I already wanted Okami HD, then I scrolled down and saw VLR and creamed myself.

You really don't need to buy any games for Vita with Plus. At this rate I wouldn't be surprised to see Persona 4 within the next few months.

I played through 999 on the DS, but I ended up getting one of the shitty endings...this game pretty much forces you to replay the game over and over and try to get the different conclusions.

But I hate replaying games, so I never bothered to replay it to get the 'full picture' of the story. Which is a shame, since I liked the setting/story...reminded me of Gantz.

Wish they had another system in place that lets you go back to certain points and make other choices.

Ohh Okami. Never tried it but always wanted. I think it's a perfect PS+ game since it's one of those games you don't want to buy but interested in.

The Cave is delicious, I definitely recommend it. :)

Replaying it would have given you some different rooms to go through, and you can fast forward the stuff you've already seen.

Is it a total disaster if I go into VLR without 999? I'd really rather not watch a youtube playthrough unless it is absolutely neccessary.

It is quite bad decision to put the game on the Vita anyway with the first one not appearing on PSP/Vita :/

Can anybody tell me if the MGS HD collection is compatible with PS3? I'm guessing it isn't, but searching both Google and this thread didn't seem to get me a clear answer. I'm waiting to get a Plus subscription and this could tip me over the edge.

It's the vita version only, but you can transfar saves if you also have the ps3 version.

Plus it'll go faster if one chooses to use a walkthrough for the puzzles. I really disliked 999's puzzles (but I also am a non-fan of puzzle games).

I would say yes. Some of the major revelations rely on one's knowledge from 999. Some of the emotional kicks will be absent if you don't experience 999.

Probably the first update where there's been nothing that really grabs me. Kind of interested in The Cave but wasn't dying to play it so in that respect it's certainly welcomed.

No complaining here anyway as, if nothing else, it'll give me a chance to catch up on the ever increasing backlog.
