PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

I literally posted in this thread earlier today about buying a physical disc of Demon's Souls......I could have put that money towards extending my subscription...sigh....

Oh well....my sub ends in less than 2 weeks, and I sub'd to GameFly.....whatever...

I'd really like to see how different the budget is for EU/US plus team. I think US isn't THAT bad but yeah, EU seems to have more consistent good quality with the plus picks. I am happy tho that plus has grown since more subscribers=better chance at better games.

Hello there good folks

I am strongly considering joining PS+ (primarily for "free" inFamous 2 and discounts), are there any good deals out there for a year membership? I know that I recently missed 15 months for $50 and the $10 rebate on $50 PSN purchases, any chance stuff like that shows up again soon?

Nobody? :(

As a side question, I know you can buy PSP and Vita games on PS3 and transfer them to a Vita unit later, can I do the same for free PS+ Vita games? I plan on getting a Vita this year but I don't want to miss out on any freebies while I don't have one

Soulcalibur is another troll choice (gee thanks for another fighting game i won't be able to play multiplayer) but Demon Soul's seems to be highly acclaimed, I was planning on getting Zombie Tycoon II after seeing the most recent topic about it on GAF, and Malicious and Labyrinth Legends seem like decent enough diversions that I wouldn't have played otherwise. Decent month overall, I think!

I think nobody knows. Having missed out on two recent sales, I imagine you'll have to wait a while to see another one. Possibly E3.

Edit: And yes, you can buy Vita games on a PS3 to transfer them later. Basically if you have a PS3 you can "save" your Vita offers for later.

You can ''buy'' the Vita games via PS3 or the browser webstore.

Weak lineup but they put Demon's Souls in there to defend against the "shitty lineup" defense, since no one can call Demon's Souls shitty and expect to live. However it's an old game most of us already played if not beaten.

You should still have a few more hours for the spend $50, get $10 back deal. I think it runs until the end of April 1.

Keep in mind though you have to add $50 to your PSN wallet and then buy the subscription. Buying a PS+ card and redeeming it wouldn't work.

You didn't miss it. In fact, it expires later tonight at 11:59 PDT. At least, I hope so based on CAG's PSN thread and Gravereau's comments on the PS blog.

This time the reward is for everyone. If you spend $50 with your SEN Wallet (on games, movies, subscriptions,…) from now through April 1, then we will send $10 reward through PS3 XMB Message and Email to your SEN/PSN account after the promotion period ends. If you spend $100 we will send $20, if you spend $150 we will spend $30, etc…

Are you 100% sure?

Also, where could I find a list of all the current PS+ free game deals? I'm so ready to jump in lol

Great. :)

Sounds like I should just bite the bullet and get a year of Plus soon. Probably in May, as the stuff in April is pretty bad. :p

Well, if you subscribe today you can still get Spec Ops The Line, which is definitely great. No harm in waiting if the titles leaving in April aren't your thing, though.

Edit: And if the $10 off offer still applies, I'd definitely jump in today if I were you.

Got the 2 Red Faction games + Deus Ex for $19.99. Now I know what the Steam guys feel...I had already got the Spend $50 thing when I renewed my PS+.
PS+ is too much.

Yes. You need to spend $50 to qualify as you need $50 in your SEN wallet to spend for the promo. Buying a PS+ sub won't qualify for it.

Yeah Spec Ops is a big push to join now, heard great things.

Fuck it, I'm buying it now. :D

If I bought $50 in credit and spent $49.99 of it would that still count?

They say April 1 here. Check the store would be my suggestion, maybe take some pics before you buy so you can complain later if they don't come through.

Sony reps here and on their blog said they'd count the $49.99 Plus subscription as a $50 purchase for the purposes of the promotion. It appears to be the only exception, though, but I'd feel confident about the rebate.

Yes. They say they round up.

$49.99 will cut it. No worries.

Yeah, seems to be.

Hey guys, stupid question, but here goes. Just got a PS3 and a 1 years subscription to PS+. I set it to US, but I hear people raving about the EU PSN free game deals and after looking over the list of what they got in comparison to US, I agree that for myself, the games on the EU side look way more attractive. Is their any way to have both a EU and US account at the same time, on the same PS3? How does that work? If its possible, it seems like a decent investment for myself, as I would theoretically have the best of both worlds, and I figure the price would pay for itself in the long run.

Like I said, I'm completely unfamiliar with the system, would I just log-in, log out with the 2 accounts, and different games would be available on each separate account?

You have to create a new local user (scroll all the way to the left), then sign up for a separate PSN account for the Euro region.

Yes

You create your main account and have say US PS+
Create a secondary account and have EU PS+ (UK is best option here)

Enjoy EU PS+ on your main account, they update Wednesday afternoon

There are free codes for EU PS+ floating around

You can get a month or two free if you want!
Credit Card Required!
Don't forget to turn off automatic renewal!

You would have to create 2 XMB user accounts (1 for US PSN and 1 for EU PSN, just set US and UK as your country of residence when asked). Then you would need to purchase PS+ on each account (you can do this by purchasing credit vouchers or PS+ voucher codes on third party websites for the foreign account). After that you're good to go and you'll be able to play games from either account on both accounts.

Awesome, thanks guys! So, it sounds like it can be done, and that it doesnt appear to be that difficult. One thing I was slightly confused about was, fine, I got 2 accounts now, 1 EU and 1 US, but I can play games from both regions on 1 account now right, without having to log in to specific regions? I think you said exactly that, but I just wanna make sure. Sorry if this is confusing, as I'm still slightly unsure.

And a stupid little confirmation, but theirs no danger in this right? In terms of potentially getting my account banned or something weird in the small print.

I am now a PS+ member. Woo!

What expires tomorrow so I can download them now?

Congrats on joining PS+! It's the best service this generation.

Here is what is leaving PS+ in March:

Leaving PS Plus In March

April 2nd – Spec Ops: the Line
April 9th – Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition
April 16th – Anomaly: Warzone Earth

Yeah no need to fear

There's no risk involved

I have had EU PS+ since November 2012, never paid a dime yet for it
I just create a new account every month, add that months games and enjoy that month's content, move onto next month, sometimes I overlap and carry the month before to the next new account ^_^

Yup, the only things that will be tied to a specific account will be Full game Timed Trials and PSN avatars.

As for account banning, there's nothing to worry about. I don't even think they ban people for connecting to the network on custom firmware.

Currently downloading all 3 free games leaving in April along with infamous 2. Hopefully everything will finish downloading by noon tomorrow :p

Thanks again guys!

They only ban you if you do something really stupid

Like spam or cyber bully other users via Grief Report, even then I have never met/seen a banned PS3 user(s)

I think they can cock-block your account access if you do a charge back (ala Steam), I think!

If you've already "bought" the games on the store, you'll always have them so you don't need to worry about them finishing by noon tomorrow

You just need to activate/"buy" them so they show up on your download list. You don't even have to download them yet.

Got a question about PS+. I had a trial membership for a month after the Great PSN Hack of a couple years ago, and I uploaded a couple saves to the PSN cloud, including one for Demon's Souls because I had no way to back it up otherwise. Since then, my PS3 yellow-lit on me and I had to re-install everything onto my hard drive.

I haven't had PS+ in two years... If I were to sign up again, does anyone know if my Demon's Souls save game would still be up there in the cloud? Or is everything bupkis? Thanks.

Demon's Souls is one of this generation's best ever games, so I can't exactly call this a bad update, but considering I played the game to death in 2009, well...

I didn't even know Malicious was out for PS3, also! I remember seeing a Japanese Vita trailer and thought it was Vita exclusive, so I was waiting for a Vita localization or something. This is fantastic news for me, it looked really fun.

It should still be in the Cloud, I know my saves were after my PS+ expired. Everything comes back once you reactivate your PS+.

Uploaded Saves to the PS+ Cloud have a 6 month grace period if you leave PS+, then they are wiped off to my knowledge
