PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

A few pages back someone mentioned their experience with Shadow of the Colossus in 3D, so I thought I'd check it out. I'd agree that it's surprisingly pretty good. Certainly a noticeable drop in frame rate, but the trade off is very much worth it.

Soooo, yeah, for the 2 or 3 people that might care, lol.

I agree that the experience is phenomenal in 3D.
Worth it even with the bad performance.
And what a game !

I hope I'm not dwelling too far OT now, but does anyone know how many people are subscribing to PS+?

The question hit me after MS reported 48 million Gold users the other day. So if that many people are willing to pay $5 a month for a rip-off, then how many would pay $5 a month for based Plus godness?

NEXT WEEK IS DEMON SOULS!!!!!!!! HYPEEEEEEEE!

Gonna go on the magical quest that is the Triple Platinum once it releases for PS+ EU

Get the NA/JP + Asia/EU Platinums!

I'm new to the service, does anyone know if games will reappear on the service?

NA tried in the infancy of PS+

During Christmas of the first year, they tried to give the same games that had already appeared over the months, a lot of people were pissed, they never did it again

I'm not sure why, but I really am hyped.
Played some Dark Souls (untill the Gargoyles) and i'm not really a fan, but somehow, i'm really pumped for this one.

Maybe because Dark Souls was frigging great but the world and story killed it for me, this one looks more interesting to me. :P

Wait, 48 million Gold? That sounds more like the total number of XBL subscriptions, but maybe I'm crazy. Source link?

I just joined US PS+ to get games. Damn my PS3 backlog is already huge after two months of PS+. And I still don't have a PS3.

Lovin' it. This summer is gonna be all gaming.

So when're we gonna learn what US and EU Plus members are getting for E3?

Wouldn't be surprised if it happened during E3 conference.

I guess subscriptions then. Thought they were the same thing :p The number was dropped at the Xbox One reveal.
Numbers-GAF ... we'll get you every time. :)

To get back to your original question, I don't think anyone knows the total number of PS+ subs. If you had me guess, I'd say 10 million, about evenly split between EU and US. I can't imagine why anyone gets it outside those two regions, since I've rarely seen anything outside those two regions that sounds worth it.

I am planning on buying a PS3 after E3 (gonna see if there is going to be a new bundle or pricedrop announced there) and also want to get Playstation Plus with that.

Now I signed up for a 30 day free trial so I can already sign up so to not miss the current deals and the yearly titles that may get removed shortly after the E3.

Will it give any problems if I create an account at a friend, assign Playstation Plus to my account there and redeem the current games?

I don't know how the transferring of accounts works with the PS3, so more info on this would be nice.

It's even easier than that.

My account got hacked today. The person changed my e-mail to a sharklasers.com address, so once I got the "your e-mail has been changed" notification I immediately went there and got into the inbox in question and changed my password and e-mail address back.

The name\address information had been changed but no transactions or new devices had been registered. All in all, it was pretty weird. I've since changed all my passwords.

It didn't seem concentrated, almost like a script, maybe? Be on the look out.

Yep. Create account online, then simply use the web store to buy everything you want (including free PS+ stuff) and thus secure it to your account. Then when you get a PS3, simply log in with your account and everything will be in your purchase list ready for download.

Brilliant, that I did not even think of that.

Waiting on an email I should get for the trial from the Facebook page, has been an hour or so now and I did not check my email address. But I'll wait a day or so.

Some accounts get hacked, stolen, renamed and re-sold. Without credit card activity so they don't alert the original owner.

So there is no gaming/purchase activity until after the new buyer takes possession. By then the middle man thief has gotten money from the buyer, and the buyer is in possession of a stolen account full of games and with credit card info to go on a spree.

There was an article a while back that said you could buy Xbox/Sony accounts for about 5-10% of the value of the games included or more if there is a card associated. And because some people have abandoned playing, you could essentially happen upon an account which would not be noticed as stolen for a long time, if ever. So you could spend a few bucks and play for a while, then if discovered, spend a few more bucks and play on another and so forth.

Also don't go crazy if your PS+ items vanishing from your DL list, when you resubscribe to PS+, they will reappear and get pushed up to the top of your list
Some items might remain, but only the demo versions, the unlock keys will vanish, etc.

I just finally tried out Pinball Arcade, and I'm really let down with PS+ for the first time ever. I was fine with getting a pinball game, hardly the best game out there, but whatever. It's something.

But the kicker is when I tried to play, and I quickly realized that we only got 4 tables out of like 25. It's basically a f2p game that we got as one of our PS+ games. Frankly, I'm disgusted that they would give this out as one of the games when it has $50 of DLC out to even play 90% of the game.

It sucks, because I probably would have enjoyed this game if we actually got it. I remember the Elvira table, and the Star Trek TNG table, but nope, they're both DLC. Fuck that.

Boo hoo. That's how they make money. They sell each table individually so people will buy the ones they want, rather than bundling them all together so nobody will pay $50 for them. It's the only way that makes sense. They can either release a single app with a few tables and stop or they can keep adding more and build a library.

When the game came out, there was no DLC, so it was $10 for a game with 4 tables. Seemed fair at the time. You're basically complaining that the post-launch support for the game has been too good.

I don't care if they're out to make money. But this is a pathetic excuse for a PS+ game. I don't want to pay $50 annually to get nothing more than hubs for further DLC upsells.

I guess I'm just surprised anyone thinks that's a fair price for only four tables.

You mean free? Or $10? BEcause $10 is fair price for four tables, actually, yeah.

I bought the original game day one at full price. I have bought every table at full price. I will continue to buy every table. Worth every fricking penny.

Have you seen the cost of real pinball tables? Or the cost for maintenance? For many people, myself included, this is inexpensive and extremely enjoyable.

I can understand some people might not like it. But you should also realize that for the right kind of person, it is truly wonderful.

It's not "nothing more than a hub". You still get 4 pinball tables.

And people think it's a fair price on account of the effort that goes into recreating the pinball tables. Besides, what Pinball game has a per table price much below $2.50 anyway?

I haven't bought any Pinball Arcade tables but I buy a lot of Zen Pinball tables and they're great. So replayable.

so i have two question? what sotre has best ps plus deals ? eu or us?
2nd is that can i use PSN cards bought from saudia for us or eu store subscription

And the included tables are pretty good ones, you can easily put more time into them than into some 10$ indie games. But the same happened when Pinball FX2 was released on Steam. People who obviously know nothing about what it takes to build these things, even virtually, started bitching how expensive the packs were. Too bad. I recommend watching some of the Kickstarter videos from the Pinball Arcade guys, they go into detail why that stuff takes times and costs what it does (licensing fees can be a big part of that).

They just put up the Season One pack, which bundles the first 18 DLC tables together, for $30. Add in the 4 free tables you got via PS+, and you average out to $1.36 per table. So for less than the price of three plays of an actual table, you get to own one and play infinitely. Sounds like a pretty fuckin' great value proposition to me.

They're pinball tables. By definition, each one is a full arcade game. $10 for four of them ain't bad at all, and these are pretty decent tables. So far, Arabian Nights is great; not that I'm an expert or anything, but I prefer it over the default Zen Pinball tables and the few real tables I've played in recent years. And I'm having more fun with just Arabian Nights than most of the recent Vita PS+ titles.

Don't forget there's licensing costs involved too, the Star Trek: TNG table required a Kickstarter just to clear all the licenses. And whether or not there's a sale on the tables next week I'm definitely picking it up.

Best Buy has a sale on PS+ cards, both online and in-store:
3-month PS+ card $16.99, down from $17.99
12-month PS+ card $44.99, down from $49.99

PSN cards are also on sale:
$10 PSN card $9.50
$20 PSN card $18.50
$50 PSN card $45.00

Also, every other ad on Neogaf is now advertising PS+. Is anyone else getting this?

Quick question: If I buy and activate a 3 month subscription on June 15, does that subscription end on September 15 or at the start/end of the third month (ie Sep 1 or 31)?

Wouldn't the gamestop deal be better?

By the way, I'm still having problems with the Vita version of The Pinball Arcade not unlocking out of demo mode, even though I have the unlocking service file in my service list.

For those without problems, when did you download the Vita version from PSN? I downloaded it around Tuesday afternoon.

Yes, unless you're super-cheap and don't want to spend the extra $5, or you have a Best Buy gift card/certificate to spend.

The pinball game is alright. I think the weight/feel of the balls is the only thing I don't like but that may be because of how much I played pinball fx.

Is anyone else disappointed by the ultimate sale on US PSN right now? When they said 75% off I thought it would be cheaper... The inflated prices from stupid costume packs and the like sort of kill it completely, even with PS+.

Pinball Arcade feels more realistic than Zen Pinball, thanks partially to the fact that it's trying to recreate actual pinball tables as accurately as possible. Whether that's better or worse is a matter of personal preference.

I see people having issues with Pinball Arcade here but when i downloaded it, i never faced any issue with activation or installation. I downloaded it on Tuesday.
