Yeah, it's like comparing Gran Turismo to PGR. If you're used to how PGR plays, you'll have issues with playing GT.
 
Has anyone here bought DLC for a free PS+ game?

Thinking about buying minerva's den for Bioshock 2 but it feels really weird to buy something for a game I don't really own.

Are you willing to pay the $10 or whatever BioSHock 2 costs in the event that you decide not to renew PS+ but want to replay Minerva's Den?

I bought a few pieces of Sleeping Dogs DLC on sale and don't regret it.

Oh, actually completely forgot that Bioshock 2 is super cheap by now. That certainly lowers any form of risk.

Nope, the free stuff is more than enough for me. Though I'm not really a DLC kind of guy, the only thing I've ever bought was the Dark Souls add-on.
 
I'm actually much more likely to buy DLC for a game I didn't have to pay for. :P That's just the way I am. For review copies of games, too.
 
Grrr GameStop showing the 1yr. PS+ code with $10 PSN credit as not available on their site. Wondering if it is worth my while to haul my butt to a physical store or if they'll just be cleaned out there too.
 
I know it's covered in the OP, but I'm still a wee bit confused (mainly coz I asked on the official Playstation forums 1st and got so many different answers to one question).

Basically I was a PS+ member before and I want to renew this weeked after a few months hiatus, will the games I redeemed in my previous bout with plus work again or are they gone forever?
The one game I really want to play through again is Limbo which I got just before my last sub expired and never finished.

So if I buy a new membership tonight, can i play Limbo from before even though there's been like a 4 month gap?

If it's like PS credit purchases, you can request it to be a code printed on the receipt instead of a physical plastic card. Call ahead and ask. They probably also put the $10 credit on the same receipt...

As far as I can tell, yes. Any games/content you picked up as freebies while subscribed will be there when you return should you let the sub lapse for a while (i let mine lapse for ~6 months when my first ps3 died). All my freebies were immediately reobtainable via my download history. And of course, all the stuff you bought and paid for using the plus discount is yours no matter what, or at least until they pull the plug on PSN lol
 
Thanks guys, just subbed and Limbo does indeed work as a full game. It's been sitting on my XMB as a trial for the last 4 months, I had to re-download it though to take away the trial setting.
Downloading Catherine and DOA5 now and just gonna check my history to see what games I snagged last time that I can play again.

I know pinball enthusiasts seem to feel the physics on Pinball Arcade are better, but there's something about the way the ball responds in Zen Pinball that seems more... predictable, I'd say. As in, it's easier to get a feel for where a ball will go in Zen than in Arcade, which to me suggests more accurate physics. The tables are obviously often outlandish in Zen (which I actually do like, but I'm pretty accustomed to both and appreciate Arcade's goal in preserving classic pinball tables.
 
I think the latest update broke the music unlimited iPhone app. It is replaying the first track instead of playing the last track when listening to an album.

Isn't those the yearly releases fellow GAFfers? If they are I think we can expect them to get replaced in next month, right?

I honestly can't wait to see what we will get, I'm even holding on buying new games until I know what I will be getting next month.
 
Guh, still unable to download Pinball Arcade. Grabbing it by the web store allows it to download, but it won't install that way. :(

Yup next month. Chris mentioned we'll find out about them soon, Sony could hold off on the announcement till e3 though. I mean having something like 'Uncharted 3 is coming to PS Plus' is pretty big and they did the same thing for RDR at Gamescon last year.

All three Uncharted would be cool. They wouldn't lose too much money in the deal with those who are already owning a PS3 (they most likely played the franchise, at least one of the episodes). And that would call for those who still don't own a PS3. Hop in guys and we offer you dem games.

(let me live in my Fantasy, I'm + for my Vita but I don't have a PS3 yet so that's that)

The point of PS Plus is to have different games for different tastes for different people It would be really, really bad if they gave the 3 Uncharted games to be honest and it would not make any sense too. There's also a high chance of most PS3 owners already having one of the best titles for the PS3. Newcomers can grab it cheap while getting other interesting titles on the PS Plus.

Shit I only posted half of what I wanted to. I was thinking about the three Uncharted. PLUS the three usual varied games.

Real pinball tables are even more random (due to physical wear and tear, among other factors) than The Pinball Arcade, I've even heard hardcore players suggesting that TPA's physics should have some "randomness" to them because they're too predictable.

Sometimes I wish that Zen Studios and Farsight ended up doing that canceled deal just to see what awesomeness would come out from those two teams together.
 
WTF this pinball arcade "game" is only 4 tables.

The DLC prices for the tables are insane as well.


Regret even spending the time to download and look at it.
 
I just bought PS+ for the first time using the GameStop deal. Is there an upcoming release schedule of free games that I could find? I live in the US.

We only know what's coming for the rest of May at this point. US PS+ doesn't announce the next month as far in the future as EU.
 
Nice I'm subbed till August of 2014 since I just bought the 1 year from GameStop and got the $10 credit. Not sure what to spend it on...
 
Subbed today for a year. I'm able to see free games on the PS3 but on the PC it is still asking me to join PS+. Also my profile doesn't indicate I own it -- is there some kind of delay?
 
Just wanted to stress how much I am loving Sleeping Dogs. I normally hate open-world games, but it turns out I just dislike their janky shooting mechanics, because I can drive around Hong Kong all day trolling for drug deals to bust just so I can bust some heads. The Batman-y combat is just simple enough to enjoy and layered enough to keep things interesting, and the voice work and overall writing is surprisingly good. I'd've never tried this in my life since I'm normally down on open-world games, but PS Plus has made me a believer.

I picked up the Zodiac tournament DLC while on sale - are the Halloween and Year of the Snake packs worth the $3.50 asking price?

Nightmare in North Point is really good. Year of the Snake is less so.

I actually platinumed Sleeping Dogs today. I have 100% of the DLC trophies too. And I wish I had more of the game to play.
 
Can you get the ps+ with $10 credit on the website? Searching and not finding anything.

Just bought a vita so now I'm thinking about getting a ps sub subscription, even though it seems most of the games are really old and better on pc. Vita games might make it worth it.
