It's time to see which PS5, PS4, PS VR2, and free-to-play games topped the PlayStation Store download charts last month.

April saw a lot of action among the top spots. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Forza Horizon 5 broke into the top three for the U.S. and EU PS5 charts, while Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate dominated the PS VR2 charts across the board.

Clair Obscur should be higher but it's a good placing nonetheless, we already know the game is a massive success (mostly due to PS5 sales I imagine) and that's all that really matters.

It sort of makes sense for it to not be that high though. Unlike the other games in the top spots it's not some massive established IP.
It's a new IP by a new studio without an established fanbase. It didn't get explosive sales on day 1 but rather seems to have gained momentum over time as word of mouth about it started to spread. It will likely place quite high on the May charts too.

Days Gone charted, thought people wouldn't even bother, but with the amount of stuff they added, it's even better than base PS4 version, so deserves more imo

I see why MS is getting out of the console hardware business now. Why not just making soft\easy money on Playstation for pure profit?

It feels like xbox games on playstation will top up the gamepass money so gamepass subscribers get the latest games.

Basically playstation users are funding games for xbox users.

Or something like that!

I didn't think xbox could keep gamepass going for xbox but now maybe they can.

Does anyone know if GamesCard.net is legit? They have Forza for 39,99 for PS5, its a huge difference with PS Store

The main reason is that you can make an absolute killing as platform holder. But only if you can actually sell platforms.

Why is Minecraft so high? The movie?

The movie, yes, but for some ungodly reason it is *always* in the top 10's of these charts.

It's an ever-fuckin-green game.

I imagine it's a lot of parents buying for their young/growing kids who are exposed to the millions of minecraft streamers and want to play it themselves.

This. Also it came out one week before the end of the month and the word of mouth started gaining traction a few days after its launch.

Lords of the Fallen made the EU list!

Shit's great. Solid game. Levels are super fun, bosses are pretty good, game is huge and also runs great on Pro. Closer to Dark Souls 3 than Bloodborne, closer to Bloodborne than Lies of P. Much more like a pure souls clone than Lies of P but also that is actually a strength as well as a weakness here. Only real issue for me is some pop in textures sometimes but it isn't as distracting. Way better than Rise of the Ronin actually or similar AA games, only Nioh series passes it as a souls imitator, similar quality as Lies of P(very good) so I'm well pleased with my 20 dollars I spent. Heard it sucked at launch but they fixed it over time.

It's a game that the PS audience usually loves. Selling less than DMC5 shocks men.
The standard is higher on PS. A mediocre game like Indy will barely sell.

I tried telling people that, but they just got mad "because reviewscores" and then they go silent or act surprised when we see the actual data.

So is the game not good? The review scores indicate it's at least a "B" level game in quality at least.

Do we have a chart for everything not just PSstore to see how they stack up

It's a very amusing coping scenario I've been reading a lot lately. Though it's not like Xbox diehards have much else left they can say these days, it's a little sad really. In the end it's a win-win situation for all parties involved.

Looks like EA's strategy with dropping the Fifa license has impacted numbers. Saw the game was as low as £20 on PSN over the weekend rather than the usual £69.99 current edition pricing, and that EU chart implies numbers are heavily down if it wasn't in the top 3 against such modest opposition.

The license was stupidly priced but it brought the player numbers for them... suspect EA's profits are up despite the suspected loss of user numbers.

Yeah, as said elsewhere, they suddenly have 75 million more potential customers, with no cannibalism on game sales. And their games seemingly sell great too on PS. It could've been so much worse, people can joke all they want but this transition phase couldn't go better really. Besides saving Gamepass I just hope the extra money they earn goes into more games. Would be horrible if they use the money for Office or whatever. Phil needs to keep Satya's hands away from the gaming money,

It's a good game, you're asking the wrong person. 🙏
It being priced £25 higher than Forza on PSN really turns up the pressure "try on Gamepass PC for 2 weeks for £1" :)

I won't, but I am still intrigued by the rumoured sales numbers and the lack of price erosion compared to say Deathloop which sold much better and was bargain bin price within a week.
