Finally got around to playing VEV compliments of m0dus.

First off I'll start by saying I had horrible motion sickness with VR when I first bought it. It was bad to the point where I started to fear I wasted $500 on something awesome I wouldn't be able to fully appreciate.

I took a week or so off then fired it back up to give it a whirl. Jumped on Jackal Assult fully expecting to only last for a few minutes. However, I played the whole thing. More so, I did it with zero illness.

I felt pretty confident I had grown my legs somewhat at this point. Just tried VEV and I'm feeling even more confident now!

If you're having troubles adapting, give it a rest and jump back in after a few days. VR legs is certainly a real thing.

Anyway, back to VEV. First of all, the game is fully playable in non VR mode. If you decide to pick it up (only $5) only to find out you can't handle it, you can still certainly enjoy it.

I myself, played it a bit in non VR mode at first to get a feel for the game. For what it was, I enjoyed it. It was a bit difficult trying to avoid the baddies while looking for rather scarce food and the fifteen minutes required to survive seemed to drag on a bit.

However, VR mode is a whole other animal. There are three comfort levels available. I started on the slowest turn speed as I'm still not entirely confident in my legs just yet. I started on the 'soil' level and holy shit. The moment I was plunked in the actual environment, I was blown away. The sense of scale is ridiculous.

It's amazing swimming around in this colossal environment with these massive organisms swirling around you. Those fifteen minutes that seemed a bit tedious before now seem like not enough. I'd say food was easier to find too, but I think I may have simply been enjoying it much more.

If you intend on playing in VR, $5 for this is 100% worth it. If you can't handle the VR, you still have a good game to relax with.

Also, the dynamic themes associated with the game are all cool as hell. I believe there are eight of them. If you want some cool dynamic themes, you may as well get the bundle deal.

I definitely recommend it.

Man I might mess around and buy this game now. How much is the bundle deal?

The PS4 Pro res bump on VR Worlds is pretty significant. Danger Ball is sharp af now, and the details in London Heist really pop. Luge still looks bad. Not as bad, but still soft.

OK, for some odd reason I never got around to playing Danger Ball. I can't comment on what it looked like before, but it looked super slick just now. Won the tournament on my first go, will definitely go back to try the score attack mode.

Did ROB show a patch yet?

It said I had latest version. 1.00

btw, when testing Driveclub, I couldn't be bothered setting up my wheel, and wow I felt a bit wobbly and iffy playing on the pad with default car positioning, sat back on the bed - usually I'm sat upright around 3 feet from the camera in a normal driving position with wheel and pedals and have never felt at all queasy.

Yeah, Rush of Blood books no different. Not pro patched yet as far as I can tell.

Couple of random things I've noticed about Rush of Blood:
The 'Rush of Blood' signs you see in game always have the letters U and D lit up (for Until Dawn).
The name of our sideshow host, Dan T, is certainly a play on 'Dante', given that the game is a descent into hell through seven levels ending in his final inferno.

VG247 says its already patched but i dont find any official words about it

A little confused .. so the pro features were baked into the initial release of Drive Club VR. Is that it? Is there another patch incoming with maybe a resolution bump for clarity?

I feel embarrassed with my VR motion sickess.

People complaint Eagle Flight being too VR newbie friendly and yet I had to quit after 15 minutes in free flight mode.

But flying freely around a city is pretty much where my VR dream started so I hope I can train my VR legs with this game.

Don't be. I consider myself having strong VR legs and this one got me too. The ring quests require a lot of turning and it got to me and I had to take a break. No shame in struggling with motion sickness but it will get better the more you use it

Thumper is looking pretty fucking good on the Pro.

VR worlds also has a cleaner image quality.

Really satisfied with my purchase.

No one should be embarrassed about VR/motion sickness. A lot of us suffered at launch - everyone is different.

My VR legs are pretty strong now but at launch I could barely get through a single match of Rigs. Now I can zip around the world of Windlands and fly the skies of Paris in Eagle Flight with absolutely no problems at all.

Best thing to do is stop as soon as you feel ill. Short sessions to begin with, and slowly get longer as you acclimatise to the tech!

Holy shit ...

Sony, you clever, clever bastards.

This is everything I'd been imagining from years of reading the impressions from show floors etc etc. The sense of presence is incredible, to not have just little graphical robots on a screen in your room, but around you, in a world that holds you no matter where you look ... I've had the stupidest grin on my face.

Not done much yet except mess with the playroom for half an hour then try demos of Eve Valkyrie and Driveclub. The best thing was the little robot platform game, due to simpler graphics and apparently better IQ. Also it was more of a toy, thus more appropriate as a place to start. Fantastic details, like the vines brushing aside as you pass, and the little hookshot thing (edit, or the terror of coming close to the edge, or the bizarre simple joy of the cave roof just being really close to your face). Mesmerising and delightful.

Had issues buying games with CC on PSN which was frustrating, but now realised I can just buy credit on Amazon. Picked up Rez, Eagle Flight and VEV. Jumping back in!

Also really need some PSN friends, please add me - myojinsoga

Just spoke to the developer of Pixel Gear and they said a multiplayer mode is coming in a few weeks. Not sure how it's going to work but any extra content for that game is appreciated. A very addictive title. (With the most accurate motion controls/shooting I've ever played.)

Cool! Btw, Have you tried Tethered after the Pro-patch?

Yep, this was exactly my first impression with Playroom VR. They nailed it, and I want more of it.

It's my go-to game when introducing new people to PSVR.

My wife and I just spent the last 15 minutes farting about with the select screen in VR Worlds. Just the select screen! Turns out each world has a ball that sits in front of you that represents the experience in some way. And they react to your controller! I was amazed to be playing beach volleyball with an asteroid, with a trail of its own debris following it around, while I shine a light through the gloom and peer closer ... The Dangerball one made me jump, flew straight at my head ... I've just laughed for surprise and joy 6 or 7 times in quick succession. Amazing.

Sounds awesome :). I'll pick up mine tomorrow with the Pro, can't wait!

I feel like I want a Pro now.

I cancelled soon after I got PSVR, intending to wait until Horizon to go Pro. Now that I'm hearing about the PSVR enhancements I'm really tempted again.

They have stock at my local Argos...

Did you think to stick your head inside the globe of water on the Ocean Descent menu? Makes it sound like everything is underwater.

Explore some more - lots of fun little touches in there, the devs really went to town and polished that whole experience. There's a post or two in this thread detailing everything, or a link at least, but have more of a play first!

Tell her to blow the little comets when they are close to her and look at her reaction.:D

I have experienced really nice visual improvements playing Battlezone (sharper, better shadowing, improved FOV or maybe it's the more noticeable details popping? Placebo effect of better framerate but likely just due to increased details) and Thumper (much cleaner) on PS4 Pro. Also tried REZ Area X which is improved as well but not as dramatically.

I'm traveling abroad again so more impressions will have to wait for a couple of weeks.

RIGS looks significantly more crisp on the Pro. I'm really happy with that level of improvement. Battlezone is only subtly improved.

Thumper is legit the scariest game I've played in VR.

Does anyone else just get terrified by the bosses? Not just the final bosses, but even the ones that are just rings. Something about the scale of them and how huge they seem makes me feel really uncomfortable when they first pop up....I always have to pause and take the headset off for a sec before I dive back in again. The final boss in level one gave me a heart attack when it first popped up, and I couldn't even look at his face while I completed the level.

Game is amazing though, definitely my best pick out of the games out so far, despite making me shit my pants.
