PlayStation VR2 |OT| I heard it has a single cable. Is this true?

I hope Hitman ends up being good, and there's not some glaring unfortunate issue with it. Exocars, waiting for people's feedback from here.

Yeah, the initial release on PSVR1 had its share of issues, then it was apparently even worse for PC.

After that the "Reloaded" version has huge issues. I'm really hoping this PSVR2 version knocks it out of the park.

About to play some Chernobyl Again, it's v1.000.500, hopefully the bugs at launch have been fixed.

I'll share some thoughts once I get a feel for it.

edit.

I am not feeling Chernobyl Again. Needlessly obtuse puzzle game. I just don't have patience for stuff like that anymore. Looked fine in the headset though, probably reprojected but the resolution is solid, it's not blurry, and the art style is good. Wandering up and down a hallway while trying to figure out how to open a door just seems like a waste of time though. There's a delicate balance with games like these and more often than not I find they don't hit the mark for me.

Played 30 mins of RoboCop Rogue City which is currently on sale.
I found it quite slow and boring and lacked immersion. VR has ruined flat screen first person shooters for me.

I don't know why devs don't hire models to turn their flat games in VR.
It seems like the cost would be minimal. And how much work is it really? There was actually a huge experiment conducted on this somewhat recently with Dreams. They gave the creators an option, to literally flip a switch to make their projects VR. And while some projects were wonky, most just worked. And Dreams is worst case scenario... those projects are created in the most peculiar manner, UI and mechanics built with and held together by bubblegum and duct tape. And yet, the games just mostly worked, by literally flipping a "VR" switch.

I don't quite understand. Especially if you already have a good, functional game.

On the topic. I'm really quite disappointed Dreams never got the PSVR2 update. I kind of understand... but they were soooo close.

I got a Quest3s, Batman is dope.

Really is a shame its exclusive because that game would be amazing on PSVR2. Graphics are great too, really impressive game.

Yes, but the problem with games that are funded by platform holders is they tend to be exclusive. Not all the time, but most times, they are.

Like at least you can sleep soundly knowing if Meta didn't fund it wasn't getting made. So others platforms weren't even on the table. Meta is the reason it exists at all.

Sony COULD fund their own games too you know! Cough cough, wink wink. Valve as well!

And at least you can eventually play the game on better hardware, as it will work on the Quest 4 and other headsets releasing that run Meta OS.

Completely agree.

Hey all!

Thanks for your support for our show both last August and for our upcoming event at 9am PT tomorrow! We're trying to build the key VR showcase that helps drive headsets into the mainstream. As someone that grew up loving E3 conferences and huge moments like Sony's E3 2016, I've always strongly believed it's something VR's missing!

Tomorrow's going to be a great show, especially for PS VR2 - we have Hitman, Ghost Town, Underdogs, Flat2VR and lots more. But we're still on the journey to growing this out to be something that brings in bigger and bigger publishers and studios (and our summer show is looking like it'll be a BIG step towards this).

So please watch live if you want to see this platform grow! It makes all the difference for what we're trying to do.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Anyone here going to watch it?

I wish we could build some louder community sentiment / momentum for the straight ports into VR. I totally understand the VRAF people, and agree to some extent... but they need to quiet down a bit and see the bigger picture.

We just need ONE major franchise to get a solid no-frills VR port (unless it's something like utilizing eye tracking to control some fuction more intuitively, or having motion controls replace the sixaxis control option, but basic stuff that doesn't require complete rework or redesign) and sell well... that could open the floodgates and raise all boats.

I will die on this hill. Forgive them father, they know not what they're missing.

Agreed.

Helldivers II would have turned heads and got coverage from large channels. Let them play the game with the dualsense. The perspective shift would blow minds.

Yeah that's a great example. The game has scale... the giant enemies and explosions would be so awesome.

I thought that majority of ps5 game will get conversion to psvr2 :messenger_tears_of_joy: Imagine if that realy was a case...

Eh, at least soon two big games, Hitman and Wanderer ;) Tough after that...
Yeah I already pre-bought Hitman, hoping it will be good. They did do a lot of VRAF in Hitman though. I'm still waiting for the straight ports. Literally any game, just "as is" is better in VR. We unfortunately don't have too many examples of this though.

Ghost Town looks interesting (hope its more puzzle with spooky atmosphere than horror game just like 7th Quests was) also it seems Hitman use dynamic foveated rendering

Nothing really exciting for me, and that's including the games not coming to the PSVR2. Most titles were really rough or flatout uninteresting. Cool to see Flat2VR having quite a good amount of games in the pipeline, though.

As I've commented on YT and other socials, Imsomniac could convert PS4's Spider-Man to PSVR2: Games like Resist have shown swinging across buildings at high speeds can be done without motion sickness and Imsomniac themselves have done great fast-paced traversal (wall crawling included) with Stormland, and Arkham Shadow has shown how to bring the combat system to VR.

It's all there, ready to happen. If only Sony would let them.
