Yeah, once you get over your instinct to interact with everything and realize you just need to follow the rules of game - like any other game there are rules to be followed, I get over the limitations pretty quick. Things you're allowed to handle will be marked with the white circle/x button, and other things are just there to fill in the environment and make it look more real and to be admired, and there's also some things you can break, which will usually stand out like a big vase or crate. So not perfect, but it really has very little effect on the game being friggen awesome and scaring the shit out of you at times.
And really, it's just fun to walk around and see everything close up and life-size, even if you can't grab every object. It's better than not having the port, for sure. And whether or not a horror game really needs complete interaction with every element or if it can work with limited interaction, well RE8 definitely proves even limited interaction is good enough, if the budget for reworking the game entirely isn't feasible.
Did you make it to the castle courtyard yet? Looking around from there and the upper levels on the balcony and other areas is great. And doesn't the dungeon just scream Oblivion haha. I can't wait for an open world RPG to get announced.
