No early bird benefits :(

Yooka is male and Laylee is female!
Is this confirmed, because I basically called it if so, I knew "Laylee" sounded more feminine than Yooka.
For the most part, yes. It just seems like compared to what came before it, WW really spruced them all up. Twilight Princess made a pretty good attempt at trying to inject personality into them again, but I get the feeling most of that personality went into Midna somehow, since she's widely regarded as the best partner character. Twilight Princess is basically Wind Waker's opposite in terms of aesthetics, and Skyward Sword tried to be both. Also, Zelda definitely took a backseat to Midna in TP, and was used by Ganon as a tool against Link, a rare event that I can recall only happening again in Spirit Tracks, albeit by a villain other than Ganon, but still.

Every Zelda game is a masterpiece in its own way. I just tend to gravitate toward Wind Waker. Majora's Mask used to be my favorite tied with it, and it took some extensive thinking before I finally settled on Wind Waker being number 1 and Majora number 2.

Been having a similar mind battle with the Paper Mario RPGs as well... but we're really getting off-topic here.
I can agree to most of this. I do think that the art style makes the personalities seem a bit more expressed than usual, don't really know if they are or aren't. Also, I think honestly a bit too much time went into Midna, game was still great though. Anyways, well yeah, not sure how to end this sentence.

"Yes, we employ the man responsible for DK64's myriad of trinkets, but we've had a stern word."

This got me pretty good

Vied for a tag related to cocks, so here it is.
Dropped onto Digital Deluxe ++ in the end, I don't think I need physical stuff, but damn if I don't want some art.

From the Kickstarter Page:

Our new heroes, Yooka (the green bloke with no pants) and Laylee (the wisecracking lady-bat with the big nose) were conceptualised from the ground up for stellar platforming gameplay, created by the same character artist behind the rebooted Donkey Kong family and legendary N64 heroes Banjo and Kazooie.

I'm in for a console copy! (Thank goodness there isn't any physical merch I'm interested in, I'd be broke after the ToeJam & Earl Kickstarter took most of my money)

I'm glad that Laylee is a girl, she looks like she has the better personality anyways. Plus she's channeling a bit of a old cartoon character from when I was younger in that artwork, glad to see that I wasn't just imagining things.

It is going to reach 100k in the first day.
Oh yeah, this is getting funded.

It is going to reach 100k in the first hour! Hell, it will probably going to reach 100k in the first half hour!

Also, those music tracks on the kickstarter page are sooooo good. The first one could be literally from banjo-kazooie, and the second one just sounds amazing!

The David Wise-track is pretty great. Not a super-fan of the steel drum, but otherwise really groovy.

Grant's track is, well...it's Banjo-Kazooie music. I'd prefer something where the connection was perhaps a little less blatant; maybe same kind of rhythm and groove but with some other kinds of instruments? It's still pretty darn good, though, if you take it for what it is.
