I moved in to my new place about a month ago, and my favorite chair didn't survive the trip :(

I've been using one of my kitchen chairs as a replacement but me bum don't care for it at all and I need to buy sommit nice and comfy.

I'd love something medium sized to place in front of a tv, nothing too big or unyieldly. Doesn't need to recline, but being able to lean back or rock with it wouldn't be bad. I'm not adverse to a reclining chair, I'd probably never use it often, tho.

Price ain't an issue, I'm willing to pay for sommit that will last and stay comfy.

So a couch? Computer chair? What exactly are you looking for? Also is it for the living room? Your bed room? Etc

Something between a computer chair and a loveseat, maybe. It's mostly gonna be used for TV watching and gaming, not computer stuff

Bed room.

I do all my console gaming on this. Super comfy. If there's an ikea nearby you can't do better than this.

Yo, that thing looks nifty, and it'll support a fatmen like me!

There's an IKEA around an hour from me, they lets you see/try some of the furniture, ya? I've never been to one.

Might give that a try.

Yes, most of the store is a showroom where you can try out all the furniture. Even if you don't like this in person you can try out their other chairs.

Well shiiit, looks like next weekend I'm going to Ikea, and if I don't find something there I'll give that Coaster Swivle a go.

Danka, Gaf!

The only downside to the Poang may be that you might notice it a little hard to get in and out of as a big person.

They are deep with the legs raised up

If you were looking for both getting a sofa chair for TV watching (Poang), and a Computer chair, I'd recommend checking out the Markus as well.

Also there is these sofa chairs

Yeah, some of those look pretty good, I'll have to test them all.

I like the look of that Mellby.

I've been looking for a good TV/movie/game chair.

I have a favorite local furniture shop that only stocks high end stuff, and by far the most comfortable one they have is a chair by a Norwegian company called Fjords. I'm really struggling to find it online, but I think it's called the "Atlantis Swing Relaxer Power". The important bit being the powered version, as the manual version can't recline in increments (can only find the manual version online).

Only problem it's ~ $2000. :/

But it's *really* comfy and I'm so very tempted.

If money is no object the herman miller eames lounge chair is as good as it gets

Nearby state university had one of these listed for $150 in their online surplus store. Someone grabbed it before I could though. They really need to hire people who do some research into things they sell.

Looks fancy, how comfy are they?

I'm sitting in an Aeron right now. It's been my chair for 2 years, after several cheap Staples/Office Depot chairs. It's ergonomic. It keeps me from having back pain when sitting for long hours. It's not the MOST comfortable (padded leather, etc), but it is one of the healthiest chairs (proper lower back support, adjustable arms).

A good alternative is the Steelcase Leap, which is more comfortable but possibly slightly less ergonomic (still good though).

They aren't comfy. I own a Herman Miller Embody, which is the more modern version of the Aeron. The purpose of this type of chair is to avoid back pain if you are sitting for 4+ hour stretches. It does that very well. However it's not the type of chair that you look forward to sitting in to relax and watch a movie. I tried out pretty much every high-end ergonomic chair when I was buying mine, and I wouldn't describe any of them as "comfy"; that is just not what they are designed for, since they are all about providing firm support for your back.

If you are looking for a comfortable chair for TV watching, go with something that has more padding in it than an Aeron. Personally I use an oversized beanbag chair.
