I tend to avoid anything white. If I'm gonna go for AF1s though I'll go with black/red combo.

Skechers = maximum comfort and arch support.

I can wear them all day at university on a hilly campus, work my night job, and then go dancing in them for several hours after work.

New Balance for a sport shoe in the US. Camper shoes from Spain should be at your local Nordstrom and feel like sex on your heels.

Rockport for classy casual. The Pro Walker has not failed me. Rockports tend to last for quite a while, which justifies their expense.
