Im getting into both of these things... name some blogs and podcasts you visit and or listen to.

I listen to TWIT

Also list what read/downloaded you use

The only ones I listen to are TWiT, Leo Laporte's KFI show, and the Battlestar Galactica one that you listen to while watching the show (but I don't listen during my first viewing).

Oh, I use iPodder.

I'm still not even clear what podcasts are. Is it just a hip way of saying "Making audio content and putting it on MP3"?

Reading blogs is pretty tedious. If I had friends that did it it might be interesting, but wading through strangers' crap is not so great.

TWiT is the only podcast I listen to. I can't get into the rest. I don't know why. It probably has something to do with the fact that TWiT is really well done.

Blogs

www.pixeldujour.com - my blog
www.agentdormer.com
www.buttonmashing.com
www.kotaku.com
www.joystiq.com
toastyfrog.1up.com
www.fueledbyramen.com/journal - just Vinnie's (Less Than Jake's durmmer)
www.engadget.com

That's about it

Safari 2.0's RSS Reader is my life saver. I would never read them all if I couldn't aggregate them all into one place.

A podcast is a radio show, only recorded for download on the web instead of broadcast live over the radio.

nice dude... guys... keep this coming

I've only just started to listen to podcast since I recently bought a Iaudio 5 2gb MP3-player.
So far a lot of podcasts are just a waste of time made by sub-amateurs

The only one so far I have really liked is the Al Franken Show. Great radioshow.

I've only listened to one episode of A Brit Abroad, which wasn't that great, but I have hopes that it will get better.

Living on Earth is quite good as well

I've listened to a few podcasts but haven't found any that I've really enjoyed outside of the few that are actually radio shows available in MP3. Some of the amateur podcasters think their shit doesn't stink now that Sirius is going to be broadcasting Podcasts over satellite radio and Apple is building podcasting into the next iTunes. It's kind of revolting to listen to. I made the mistake of listening to a Madge Weinstein podcast where she was sitting in a conference room at Sirius and it was just person after person coming in to tell her how great she is. Yeah, greaaaat podcast.

What is a "podcast"?
Generally, they're a radio show or talk show that's downloaded automatically by a podcast program so that you can listen to it on your PC or MP3 player. Here's a site where you can find some.

BTW if you thought that Chris Pirillo was annoying on Call For Help you should hear his podcast. :(

When you say 'radio show', do you mean 'random person spouting bollocks because they like the sound of their own voice'?

Just checking.

I'm trying them out, and like Mark Kermodes radio 5 live movie podcast, but thats from BBC radio as a trial.

I also use Ipodder, and its a bit fiddly. You end up with lots of playlists in itunes, and have to create a smart playlist to encapsulate them all for your ipod, otherwise you end up with too many different playlists.

Still, its a neat thing. built into iTunes would be neater. Good way to get some vocal stuff

I don't listen to those horrible ones as you can see from my first post in this thread. :)

OK. I listent to TWIT too. Not bad. I tried an F1 one, but the guy was so bad - clearly just a kid in his bedroom.

Here are a few of my favorite blogs....

This guy is really funny....
http://www.fateyefortheskinnyguy.com/

This chick is out-there! A very educational read indeed, and funny. She is my kind of woman! You boys will like her...
http://virgin-slut.blogspot.com/

And of course, I always keep an eye out for my Tommie Boy in Iraq!
http://www.tommiehustle.blogspot.com/

My own blog has turned to shit. Lately I have been spending all my time on here and have been neglecting it... and when I have posted, it's had something to do with you guys... I gotta get outta the house!

Blech. Not so far. Has all the typical blog problems (self-involved, poorly developed ideas spoken largley from a position of ignorance or isolation).....but just with a really strong sexual slant. And she's lifting "make fun of porn absurdity" jokes from like half the 1980's comedians. At least it's none of it is absurdly personal, though. I imagine it must be cool every once in a while -- are there any good archived posts?

Of course it is self-involved. It's a blog!

Here is an educational number...
http://virgin-slut.blogspot.com/2005/02/my-thing.html

And of course, an erotic one...
http://virgin-slut.blogspot.com/2005/04/relaxation-techniques-for-frenzied.html

And I love this post because of the comments - us women arguing with each other as to why we shave our pussies or not... it's a laugh...

Well, I just mean that I have no patience for people doing PSYCH 101 pontificating about why they are the way they are....but maybe the recent posts just gave me the wrong idea. I might've gotten off on the wrong foot or something since the current posts just seem kind of stupid. Why do people like porn to be photographed in the kitchen? Could someone really not figure this out after about 1 minute of involved thought?

I suggest Mojo Nixon's talk/rant radio show from Sirius. It's called Lyin' Cocksuckers, and is only a half-hour or so each week.

It's not officially podcasted, but you can find it in alt.binaries.sounds.radio.misc.

in light of Itunes 4.9... this thread gets a bump. im subscribed to a few but the ones I listen to are:

-TWIT
-Cinecast
-Accident Hash
-Engadget

Yup. Then you "schedule" it for auto downloading to listen to offline via your iPod ;)

The journals/blogs I read on a regular basis:

Andy Baido - http://www.waxy.org
Jason Kottke - http://www.kottke.org
Matt Hawkins - http://www.fort90.com
Mike Nowak - http://the-inbetween.com
Wonderland - http://crystaltips.typepad.com/wonderland
Alex & Amit's Damned Machines - http://www.damnedmachines.com
Simon Carless - http://www.mono211.com/ffwd

Many of the 1UP editors - Mark MacDonald, Che Chou, Jeremy Parish; Greg Kasavin's journal... a bunch really. Most of what I read is focused on gaming and Web tech, but I have a hard time getting through much of the writing of other blogs (Game Girl Advance, Grand Text Auto, etc.).

Since I can't find any good JP Punk Rock podcasts, I don't listen to any podcasts.

I didn't want to start a thread for this but am I the only one who has HATED the last two TWiTs because Leo has been away? Patrick is great when Leo's around (and pretty good with Kevin) but Episode 13 had neither of them and it was boring as shit.

What really stinks is when you update to the new version of wordpress and kinda destroy your database. Thankfully I have all my entries saved.

Updates to my list!

I am now listening to five podcasts.

This Week in Tech - Still the best podcast on the net. It's so nice to hear the Screen Savers gang back together + John C. Dvorak.

Diggnation - I love digg and the weekly 30 minute podcast is pretty sweet.

KCRW's Film Reviews - Four minutes long every week the guy who reviews movies for The Wall Street Journal gives his views on the openings of the week.

Adam Curry's Daily Source Code - I'm not sure if I like this one yet. Curry seems a little too fired up about being so independant and on the edge and all that "fuck the radio" such.

Slate Magazine Podcasts - Best of Slate's daily articles, just started listening to. No opinion yet.
