Point&Click / Idle'ish games

Hello Gaf,

I am in need of recommendation because of the following: I was doing my excercises during a driving lesson on the motorcycle. Eventually and unfortunately for me I had an accident regarding a leaving truck (also with a "student" in it). It moved forward during my slalom test. I got hit, did a frontflip and eventually got away with it quite well considering what had happened. In both of my hand I broke the same little bone. Both my arms are now in plaster, and typing takes ages. I cannot use my thumbs.

I can however move the mouse easily, so I was wondering if you can suggest some nice games that hardly require any controls i.e. Vampire Survivors and Balatro. Just need to be able to something else besides watching shows/movies or read books.

Thank you in advance for the suggestions. Don't worry about me, I'll heal eventually, just crave something to pass the time.

Edit: Forgot to add I play on PC/Deck and PS5.

Loop Hero maybe? I haven't played that in a while, but I'm sure it's just mouse. If you're wanting something similar to Vampire Survivors, then Death Must Die or Halls of Torment.

Check out Amanita Design games. They make my favorite modern P&C games and are all very well done. If I had to pick two, I'd go with Botanicula and Happy Game.

I have spent around 20 hours of my life playing the browser game Universal Paperclips.

It's super addicting, has depth, and goes places you wouldn't expect. Highly recommend.

Here's the link!

There's new breed of clicker games with a beginning and end (a trend?). You'll play them for 10-14 hours with most of the achievements done. Compared with Cookie Clicker where you play them for years and it turns into the occasional diaper change at higher levels.

Utopia Must Fall was gifted to me and it's awesome. A modern fusion of Asteroids & Missile Command. You only need to move the mouse and the cannon autofires.
The CRT and vector simulation is super authentic looking.

Some of my favorites:

Rear Window-esque game where you spy on different people

Fun comedy-adventure PnC

Textless adventure game that only takes around 5 hrs to beat, probably Amanita's best

Diablo 3

First Syberia?
Broken Swords already mentioned by above posters
Gemini Rue?
Professor Layton

I recall I research for this genre few moment ago, but I forgot where I put the list : ))

You can play most tycoon / city builder, CRPGs, 4X and RTS (preferably those where you can issue orders while paused) using only a mouse, just a bit slower than usual without keyboard camera controls and shortcuts.

Turn-based CRPGs removes any time pressure, but if your off-hand is capable of pause and unpause then you have tons of options.

I found Islanders to be surprisingly deep and requiring of thought the further I got into it. It's a chill game where you can take your time and plan your moves to be as efficient as possible. Satisfying!

Frostpunk is a tense survival resource management city builder. One of the best games I played that year.

I haven't played Rusty's Retirement yet but it looks super comfy and like a good way to pass some time in your leisure.

I'm hesitant to recommend this because the company putting it out does those superfake commercials for gameplay not in the game, but I actually like the mechanics of the free-to-play idle'ish rpg game Hero Wars.

Battles generally play out on auto, and max at 2 minutes, no text or meters to type. character matchups depend completely on wise loadouts and buffings, and the only money I ever put in was a buck to get the Instant Raids. (Just ask for the Golden Ticket in the yearly Christmas giveaway if you're still playing by that point to get the same thing free.) No story, but you can pour a lot of time into mastering the Arena and Campaign

Probably this is a scuzzbo recommendation because it's F2P-fentanyl game structure (I'm not even posting a pic because I might regret hooking another player in), but if all's you've got is a finger, this'd work.

If you want idle games, these two are great:

Faceminer is a 2-3 hour game where you earn money by clicking faces. You then use that money to upgrade your computer to be faster and faster.

The Gnorp Apologue is an addicting clicker where you build up a little army to attack a big rock that gives you resources. Good depth and longevity.
