Following the recent Game Freak leaks, one of the most shocking revelations involves disturbing lore regarding the Pokémon Typhlosion. The leaks, dubbed "Teraleaks," include an unreleased story that implies Typhlosion kidnaps a young girl, leading to dark consequences, including the birth of a half-human, half-Pokémon hybrid. This unexpected narrative twist has set the internet ablaze, particularly on platforms like Twitter, where users have expressed their reactions through memes, jokes, and commentary.

One Twitter user highlighted this unsettling lore, stating, "Typhlosion... kidnapping a girl and gaslighting her? What in the world?" This comment alone garnered thousands of likes and sparked widespread discourse. Other users followed with memes, like one saying, “Gen Z is trying to cancel Typhlosion,” which gained considerable traction. The overall response on social media has been a mixture of disbelief, humor, and criticism, as many fans joke about the Pokémon's darker portrayal while others voice concerns over Game Freak’s choice of storytelling

Mythology is full of stuff like that, maybe that's why Japanese fans aren't really buzzing with this. I haven't seen the original texts so right now anyone can write anything saying it's just "a leak" and people would believe it immediately. Also, it seems there's no context, whether this was written 10 years ago or recently, whether this is an ongoing brainstorming to create lore based on Japanese/Nordic/Greek mythology or was already scrapped, whether it was something personal from the employee or there's some mail chain with the development. Was that in a shared server? Was it peer reviewed?

So all the religious nut jobs that kept saying pokemon was devil stuff on the 90's... Were right??
I’m glad I made it through puberty before Pokemon existed. Now we’re seeing what happens when Pokemon imprints itself on our impressionable youth before they reach sexual maturity.

GameFreaks indeed. Really though, those Pokedex entries were always weird to the point of being nonensical, but I just figured that was a poke at the over-eager junior scientists who were recording folk tales as data.

There is a bunch of loose threads in the pokémon verse that raise some eyebrows that this doesn't surprise me in the slightest. The Pokémon manga goes dark at times. Pokemon human hybrids certainly was in my bingo card, what must come as a shock is the leaked material being as unhinged as the fans.

Drifblim and Drifloon don't fuck kids, they just kill em.

Hypno lore.

As far I remember, there is no record of 'killing someone'

Drifblim just take the kid and go to a place to be never see again. There is no mention of either 'fuck' or 'kill'.

And I using the dex entry, keep in mind that sometimes even Bulbapedia is bias. Like saying some NPC is a descendent of the character of the anime 'May' just because she have similarity of the haircut and nothing to proved. You can check for yourself if you want.

edit:
She appears to be related to Mai, having similar hair styles and colors, eye shapes, and naming schemes. Mai has Marley's Japanese name in the English version, along with posing on concept art, as well as Mai's hairclip being where Marley has her bow. However, the exact relationship between the two is unknown.

The way people talk about it you'd think it was more explicit, though it's still bizarre given who the target audience for these games are. It resembles myths like the origin of the Minotaur, which was probably the intent.

I mean these "things" are called Pocket Monsters... Monsters ! So of course they do monstrous things...

Afaik the original manga was even pretty brutal/dark where the Pokemons gets killed in a fights etc.

TBH I am not suprised to see/read something like this and at the same time as everybody else already mentioned here, there are several other Pokemons with bizarre Pokedex entries and nobody cared so far..

I wouldn't mind to see / get a Pokemon game or series with a darker / more serious setting.
Would be definitely something exiting and fresh for the series.

Resetera is currently losing their minds about Pokemon triggering their rape trauma and banning people left and right for disagreeing that the developers aren't literal predators. Imagine breaking into someone's private diary and being mad about what you find

According to the leaks, there's a new Pokemon anime movie being made that were aimed for older audiences, where it tackles about heavy stuffs like bullying and suicide.

Sadly, the movie is very likely stuck in development hell, since it started production in 2021 and scheduled to be released in 2023, but there's no news or whatsoever about it in 2024, which is not surprising TBH, considering the story of that movie is kinda extreme for Pokemon standards.

Dunno if they still want to go using that kind of story or not, but I do hope that they'll stick with the original plan, since that would make a really interesting Pokemon story, which is vastly different from the usual family-friendly ones.
