Yeah, I'm basically expecting that. We all know Niantic isn't always the best with how they communicate things at times. So likely a misunderstanding.

App update is rolling out to iOS users now, so we may get gyms by the end of the day. But most likely tomorrow. No way will they wait until July.

You should be able to raid from level 5 and up (since level 5 is when you first can battle in gyms).

But you will be able to receive all the items that drop from raids at level 15 (rare candy, golden razz berry, fast and charged TMs), so anything above that and you are good to go.

Got the update, and everything looks pretty slick! And now we wait for the gyms to re-open.

I hatched three 10Ks yesterday, and they went much better than my last batch. Mantine, Lapras, and Mareep were hatched. Just another 150,000 xp to level 34, too!

I'm a little behind you there with about 250k xp to go until 34.

This event has been great for me though. I'm going to end up having gained about 500k xp just over the past week. It could have been more too, but I went to visit my mom over the weekend and her house is a Pokemon ghost town.

I just hatched a Mantine, with 2 more 10k in my list. I'd kill for another Mareep!

I'm now about 350k away from level 35!

devices that let you spoof, bot, etc etc cheat. There are also apps that let you directly check your pokemon IV's by using your PoGO login, but that has already been getting people shadowbanned. (ie never ever use a non official app/service/website that ever asks for your credentials.)

Not sure they can check spoofing apps. It's pretty hard to crack apparently because they only essentially change the GPS of your phone.

I was down to five Pokémon to complete the non regional pokedex. Hitmonlee, Porygon, Porygon 2, Blissey, and Granbull.

I was walking down the hallway just getting into work and out pops a Hitmonlee! I've never seen any of the Hitmon Fanily in the wild. I also haven't hatched a Tyrogue in forever, I had one that could have turned into a Hitmonlee but stats were tied and it went Hitmonchan.

Now I'm down to four left.

Congrats! Good luck on the Porygon duo, both were my last entries for gen 1 and 2, although the latter was heavily stalled due to how long it took to finally get an upgrade.

As a mild Pokemon fan, who pretty much only consumed the cartoon as a child and then this game, the season 2 monsters are already getting pretty ridiculous. Houndoom - a goat with the body of a dog.

Is there a list out there of what can hatch from each egg type? I seem to remember something like that a few months ago, but I just recently redownloaded to get the new pokemon and try out the gym change.

They probably have sanity checks. Like if you change location to somewhere 10 miles away within an unreasonable short timespan they probably flag you. If they were even more enterprising you can actually apply trip routing to get the fastest reasonable route by car like popular mapping apps can do. You could also do a sanity check on wifi, if the location services estimated point is too far away from the GPS point they can use that too.

They have to be careful with that though. During E3 people who played Pokemon Go were getting teleported from Los Angeles to Austin to Tokyo, presumably because the GSP signal was too weak inside the Convention Center and so it was going off the wifi location services of the vendors at the convention. So those people would have been incorrectly shadow or softbanned if these checks are too strict.

My work's Pokestop being turned into a Gym is messing with my Pokeballs. I used to get my fill there, but now I haven't been able to restock Pokeballs in days :(

Soon though once enabled seems like that issue will go away. :)

Also, yeah I'm almost out too. Kinda glad the event is over. Need to now get a bunch more pokestops

I was unable to reliably get information on the maximum capacity of Grant Park, but there were easily tens of thousands of tickets on sale. Apparently the venue gets like 100,000 people per day when Lollapalooza takes place there.

They are. You need special passes to get them that are handed out to those that do a lot of gyms and participate in raids a lot. And seeing that raids can be code locked period means the system is ripe for abuse.

Granted that info is from data mining and is still being tested, but if that's how it goes I'm done. It's hard enough playing in a rural area with limited everything, this is all making it worse.

I thought the wording on the legendary raids was that they would "also" provide codes to those who heavily participate in gyms meaning that there will be a different primary way to get legendaries.

Thanks for the clarification. Well, guess using an app to check IV's might be a problem for me then.

Nobody knows how the game is going to handle Legendaries. But chances are they won't just be spawning randomly around the map. I presume they will mostly be available through raids.

You can do 1 raid per day, so if your only concern is getting Legendaries, then just keep a raid pass on hand at all times.
