Pokémon Go |OT 3| "No Officer, I'm a Passenger"

So is Umbreon and Espeon just random eeveelutions like the first three? Or is there something else to be done in order to get them?

You can name the Eevee Sakura for Espeon and Tamao for Umbreon (only works once, I think? Not sure).

From what thesilphroad is investigating it seems possible that for Espeon and Umbreon, beyond the naming trick for your first evolution, the evolution works by walking with an Eevee set as a buddy for 10km and evolving it for Espeon during the day and Umbreon during the night, but I think whether that's not a massive coincidence is not yet proven by 100%. Would be supported by game code still randomizing only between Flareon/Vaporeon/Jolteon.

Where am I supposed to hold on these Hoppip?

Awesome, thanks. I had two extra Eevees and a ton of candy saved for the Gen II Eeveelutions. And now I have all Eevees again.

Anyone know if items like Metal Coat, King's Rock, etc will be level up rewards as well?

It is a insult to Pidgeys to compare them to Swinubs. Pidgeys are atleast useful when they spawn a lot since they are the most effective way to get exp thanks to there low evolution requirements.

Dont mind swinubs right now since it will make getting the ice gold medal much quicker.

This is great. Doesn't quite feel like it did when the game first came out, but a lot of people at work have opened it up for the first time in ages and are having fun catching new stuff. I think variety is the true key in this game - makes tracking worth it, makes hunting for nests and new spawns worth it.

I'm playing by only catching basic stage pokemon. I'm going to get all the candy I need to evolve everything gen 2 at once with a lucky egg to get that double XP evolution / new pokedex entry combo. I wish I had done that first time round!

Just took down a lvl. 10 gym. That took much more time and effort to take down than before.

Hydro Pump OHKOs same level Jolteons now. 😂 Dragon Pulse also does a buttload but it's more manageable because it's easier to dodge. Hydro Pump, Stone Edge, Body Slam, Dragon Claw are almost instantaneous. Body Slam Snorlax is a monster. Wish I had a decent Machamp but both have Bullet Punch. :(

had a good walk home from work got

chikorita
meganium
quilava
sentret
furret
hoothoot
ledyba
spinarak
crobat
natu
murkrow
dunsparce
shuckle
skarmory
houndoom
espeon
umbreon
snubbull
houndour

now i just gotta know if theres a way to guarantee the 2 new eeveelutions

edit:

oh cool those worked thanks

edit: and i assume the stones i need drop from pokestops?

Those saying Swinub are everywhere? Where you located? I haven't seen any yet.

Do you guys see plenty of Spinaraks or Sentret's?

Saw no Spinark
Plenty of Sentret. About the same amount as Swinub. Natu also everywhere as well as Murkrow

Haven't seen Mareep, Sunkern, Snubbull or Teddiursa just for comparison

Snubbull, Sentret, and Hoothoot are very common here. Murkrow is fairly close. After that probably Houndour, then drop a bit down to Natu. Slugma is very common in parts, but rare in other parts. Spinarak is not quite uncommon, Ladyba is uncommon but not super rare. Got s couple Sunkern. Never seen a Swinub or Mareep.

So you can find the starters randomly then?
Last night I got a decent haul, Espeon and Umbreon, Sentret, a few Hoppip, a few Natu, one Swinub, Hoothoot, Spinarak, Ledyba, Ledian and a few Wooper.

I forgot Gen 2 has a bunch of either single stage or one evo Pokemon so it should be relatively easy to get a majority of them pretty easily.

Can anyone catch me up on Exclusives or other things people found? I'll add them to the OP today.

So far it seems Heracross might be South America exclusive which really really hurts.

Swinub feels like the new Drowzee - not exactly a common Pokemon in main-line games, yet it's everywhere in Go.

I wouldn't say everywhere - in many places Drowzee was/is extremely rare. Apparently the case is the same for Swinub.

Looks like Heracross is the only one from gen 2. Just joining the other 4.

Of course it was one I was looking forward to...

Why would anyone even say that at this point? Gen II literally just released. At least wait a day or two before accusing a seemingly rare pokemon as being exclusive.

So I guess Europe is Swinub town now, eh. At least Swinubs are better than Drowzees.

Millions of people are playing this game around the globe, it's different from other games. If Heracross spawns quite often in South Florida and Brazil is flooded with them, yet there were no sightings outside of South America it's most likely regional. Hard to say with 100% certainty yet, but very probable.

There's more than enough people providing data points to be sure at this point.

I still don't accept it yet. There's a handful of Gen I Pokemon I have never seen in the wild around my area yet hatched several.

And I've never hatched or seen a Hitmonchan yet despite playing since day 1 and I know it's not exclusive to anywhere.
