I don't get why so many people hate Smogon.
They seem to have a reputation for being ban-happy, and for a time I could probably understand feeling that way.
Nowadays not so much.

Rayquaza's not very popular right now in ubers. Outclassed by a lot of other things (For example, Extremekiller Arceus), gets checked by Fairy types, his typing does him no favors, limited roles as sweeper and wallbreaker, etc.
I'd actually call Kyogre Smogon's favorite uber.

My problem with Smogon is favoritism. Like their ban for Klefki's SwagPlay was uncalled for.
That was dumb, but I'm not shedding any tears over it.
I have more issue with the clusterfuck that was Gen 5 Black 2 and White 2.

I was under the impression that SwagKey was banned because it makes match outcomes heavily reliant on RNG, same reason they have the evasion clause. What do you mean by favoritism?

Man that brings memories of when I use the Wynaut in the cute Pokémon contest, the thing was amazing.
Personally I just ignore Smogon and battle with whatever what I want to use, they are not the boss of me nor is their "banned" list official.

Smogon doesn't create ban lists for cartridge battles.
There are actual Nintendo tournaments.

VGC is a thing, but I personally prefer Smogon's rules.

3rd Gen is probably my favourite generation, so I'm really hyped for this. Hopefully this means the return of secret bases, contests, and maybe even the Battle Frontier from Emerald. They should also add in some new Megas, which they could patch into XY. Mega Swampert would be god-tier. Maybe even Johto starter Megas, since you could choose one in Emerald. They definitely need to add in Regigigas, too, and maybe expand the Regi puzzles. Some previously event-only Pokémon like Deoxys and Jirachi would be a nice addition, and there could be some endgame storyline related to them or something.

Biggest reason I hate Smogon is the community that follows it. I hate the fact that people treat Smogon rules as if they are official rules any where when talking about competitive Pokemon.
You see people saying "x is banned" or "x clause" without any indication that the rules not official rules and are actually rules by some community run site.
With that said, it is cool they try to "balance" 6v6 battles, but it is like using bandages to patch up a leaking pipe.

You could say the same about 4v4 doubles, unless you think a 50% Cresselia usage rate is balance.
Yea, you can say that about a lot of things, but if you're going to argue/imply that Singles is more balanced than Doubles, then all I can say is lol.
EDIT: Or even say they are equally balanced.
I never argued or implied either of those things. Both are hideously imbalanced.
