HGSS retained Crystal's focus on Suicune, so there is a precedent for thid game changes to be in remakes.
That trailer cuts in a way that makes it look like Rayquaza was about to fly in too, which lines up with the encounter the trio have INSIDE Sootopolis city. There's no reason GF couldn't move the fight to outside.

I mean, sure it's easy to miss this - I sort of forget not everyone is into the whole scene and only follows Pokemon news occasionally, so I won't be down on you for not knowing

On the discussion a while back on more megas. It does make me sad that Dunsparce didn't get a fairy type change or a Mega evolution. Anyway, as for speculation of whether the cover legendaries are megas or alternative forms, it's really hard to say. Given how GF likes to introduce and then drop features it wouldn't shock me if GF came up with Omega and Alpha evolutions that work similar to Mega evolutions but don't effect stats in quite the same way. GF seems to do a lot of needlessly complicated things.
I personally hope GF keeps megas and doesn't make it more convoluted and I also hope they introduce more of them in ORAS. Here are pokemon just in general that I'd like to see Mega evolve or that I could see GF selecting, I'm excluding starters and legendaries:

Looking back Gen 6 had a fair number of Pokémon that looked like they needed one more evo, Helioisk, Hawlucha, and Carbink in particular.

More like I think that because the way he brought it up in the first place seems really unnatural if he didn't know who Joe was.

True. Speaking of which, I wonder if any of those three mystery/event pokemon will be available in ORAS. I could at the very least see Volcanion fitting well into ORAS.

Holy I heard the Pokémon manga are fairly dark but that takes it a few levels further o.o
It's also interesting to see how the manga designs constantly differ. I guess they have more freedom there since it strays from the games and the anime anyway?

Still surprised anyone thought otherwise. Never heard someone make that sort of reference to an article writer they genuinely didn't know when bringing up an article. If a person genuinely doesn't know they probably just won't mention who wrote it.
