I haven't, bet it amounts to a random Youtube comment at best rather than some big discourse.pathetic. maybe the next game...
i have.
Seriously even just the sort of "hmm!" "Ahhh!" "Yes" "ohhhh" stuff that you get in BOTW would have been better than nothing. I remember watching a walkthrough of Legends Arceus and being amazed by the complete silence. The (human) NPCs make literally zero noise.pathetic. maybe the next game...![]()

The fact that the Pokemon do make noise makes it even more fucking bizarre.
The fact pokemon still make the same noises they did because it was a fucking Game Boy game when we now have the ability to record and play full voices on our hardware and have an ENTIRE ANIME SERIES WITH POKEMON THAT HAVE ACTUAL VOICES! Still get me.
I mean why would no one want these to be the noises ingame?
Varies by country and often sounds terrible for normal species.
If that trailer and it's typical shitty English anime voice acting is anything to go by, thank the fucking gods these games won't have voice acting.
Maybe because I'm British myself, but I absolutely fucking hate the British VA for Xenoblade 2. What an absolute aural car crash that was.If that trailer and it's typical shitty English anime voice acting is anything to go by, thank the fucking gods these games won't have voice acting.
Seriously, what is it with English anime VAs and their retarded pronunciation and word emphasis? It can't be because it's aimed at children as Thomas the Tank Engine, Postman Pat, Fireman Sam, etc. do it better.
Yeah I get the idea that each Pokemon voice/sound (or multiple variations) takes up file space, but really how much space....?! Here's a back-of-the-napkin calculation. The fact pokemon still make the same noises they did because it was a fucking Game Boy game when we now have the ability to record and play full voices on our hardware and have an ENTIRE ANIME SERIES WITH POKEMON THAT HAVE ACTUAL VOICES! Especially Rex and whoever the Welsh girl was (you can tell I bought it and sold it pretty soon after I realized how bad the VA was...
The English VA in Xenoblade 3 seems to be marginally better but I'm not even risking it at this point, I'll just use the Japanese.
Yeah, that's terrible as well. It is pretty anime anyway, so my point applies. Just embarrassing that fellow countrymen voiced it. No better than the American VA shit.
That said, I think a lot of the Japanese VA sounding better is because most people outside Japan do not understand it, or if they do are not used to the types of voices and words/grammar used. It's often still a bit cringey, though nowhere near as much.
Though the issue with almost all anime English VA stuff isn't really the translation (though that often is an issue). It's poor acting in English.Yeah I was thinking the exact same when I finished watching Spy Family (in Japanese because I'm in Japan) and then I went on youtube and saw the English dub of Anya and.......... yeah wow that is not the same at all. They lost what made the (JP) Anya voice (and character) funny (mainly the way she says things and gets things wrong like だいじょうぶます instead of 大丈夫).

I don't want to get too down on anime VAs, but most of them (not that there are many) suck at expressing emotion... well... normally, let alone well. There's good reason most of them never make it into Western animation productions.
It's not like it's impossible. Look at Avatar. The voice acting in it isn't too bad. The reason is because it's not an anime and they didn't cheap out too much on the VAs.
