I realize this is bad for both dems and republicans, but I find it hilarious after the Bush comment the other day.

In other news: UN calls emergency meeting on the current Israeli incursions into the occupied territories which have killed 73 people in the past 6 days.

Well, IIRC Poland hasn't even 1000 soldiers in Iraq...

Too bad nothing ever happens after all these meetings.
UN = Toothless tiger.

That's especially because America, which is right now the only superpower remaining, gives shit about the UN. Funny that they are often explaining that resolutions of the General Assembly or the Security Council often have no effect at all.

The reason that they're leaving is that the terrorists forgot about Poland, too. Now they know again, and Poland's getting the fuck out while the getting's good.

According to the report, Poland will reduce its forces in Iraq by 40 percent -- from 2,500 to 1,500 -- by the end of 2005.... Those soldiers now lead an 8,000 strong multinational force, which controls south-central Iraq.

The deadline to pull out troops will coincide with the expiration of the United Nations Security Council resolution 1546 at the end of 2005, which authorized the upcoming elections.

"That does not mean, however, that if a stabilization mission was continued, Polish troops would be completely pulled out from Iraq," said Szmajdzinkski. "A group of officers at the headquarters, training centers, maybe a group of observers could still remain."

Its not the end of the world..sheesh. This was expected despite press reports.

UN meeting on Israels onslaught

It won't even be a surprise on how this turns out.
