Please watch this in full. It's really shitty she has to explain what she said when it was pretty cut and dry.

Video below

Btw allegedly the mayor said she did nothing wrong by speaking out so her job is safe.

No clue on the title cause I didn't hear her say she was suspended so ignore that.

And this little golden nugget proves the officers point
Baton Rogue officer resigns after making racist remarks

I knew the instant I started watching the video we'd hear from her again. Nobody is allowed to just simply have an opinion anymore. I feel terrible for her.

Yeah it's really terrible but on the plus side someone said to her via FB that they are ready to put the guns down.

Some good came out of this.

This is a significant issue. One of the comments in the article had it exactly right. This officer has been on the force for 15 years. Someone doesn't just turn on the racism overnight. It was likely there for a while.

That being said, that's 15 years of interactions, arrests, reports, etc in the community. How, given this officers racism, can there be confidence he acted in good faith throughout his career when it came to his work? There really should be an investigation into all of his cases, evidence handled, etc. Did other officers know about it? Or as he able to keep it under wraps for 15 years? Imagine if that is a plan of action or lawyers start looking into cases - the massive burden on the system and state it would cause in terms of manpower and money just to see what went on?

This is why even a single bad actor here can disrupt the entire judicial system. How many people or lives affected? How can people have confidence in the system with this information and that cases were handled in an unbiased manner? The stakes are to high for this given it is a critical institution of this country and bedrock of American society - or any society for that matter.
