Popeyes' latest limited time offering is the Cheddar Biscuit Butterfly Shrimp. It features marinated butterfly shrimp in a cheddar biscuit breading that's fried to a golden brown.

A $5.99 combo meal includes eight Cheddar Biscuit Butterfly Shrimp, one regular side, a biscuit, and the chain's new Ghost Pepper Jelly for dipping.

While Cheddar Biscuit Butterfly Shrimp will officially launch nationwide on Monday, June 26, 2017, some locations have already been spotted frying up the new dish before the official launch date.

Ian Keiner, aka Peep THIS Out! on his YouTube channel was lucky enough to get an early look and taste of the new menu item over the weekend.

As Ian points out in his Cheddar Biscuit Butterfly Shrimp review, ”It looks like Popeyes is taking a page from the Red Lobster playbook by lighting up their butterfly shrimp this month with a very familiar looking cheddar biscuit coating that looks very similar to the Cheddar Bay Biscuits from the other guys."

I can't even do cheese + fried chicken so I cannot stomach the unsactioned buffoonery of cheese + shrimp.

Oh God. Why is no one bringing the Popeye's franchise to Australia?

I love it whenever I have a stopover in Singapore because I get to gorge myself on their Fried Chickens.

Don't know about fast food shrimp, but cheddar biscuits sounds like more of the good work from the artisan monks from Popeye's.

That sounds like a lot of food for $6....

In Canada, $6 will get you maybe half the cardboard container. Food not included.

One of the truly good things about America is that, compared to other countries, food is very cheap and always served in large quantities.

Why do you think it's so cheap?

The answer is: massive destruction of natural habitat to intensively farm poor quality shrimps with slave labour.

The end product looks almost as grim.

See the problem I see is that you don't believe in the shrimps. They could grow up to be the next president with the right amount of orange flavoring.
