Port forwaring problem, tech help needed

Ok, so in anticipation of the PSP launch I finally upgraded my little home network up to a Wireless G network. I bought this Microsoft MN-700 base station simply because we carried it at my store and it was only like $30. For the most part it has worked quite well for my modest means, but I was trying to grab the latest episode of 24 off the torrents since my cable company sucks and had an outage for most of this evening.

ANYWAYS, I'm trying to set up my port forwarding so that things move a bit smoother, and every other router I've used has been faily simple in this regard. However this router decides that I need to set up not only the incoming ports that I want to open, but also something called private ports. Basically it looks like I am telling it where to send the information from those ports that I opened on the router side, but all I've ever done for that before is give it an IP address.

So.. any help? I can provide more info if need be, as I realize I described that horribly.

I actually had it set up as a spread. 6881-6889

What I don't get is what do I put down as my private ports?

If I leave it how I have it set up there, then go to some place like ShieldsUp! to try and probe those ports they come back as stealthed, not open. So I am missing something.

The whole point of using port triggering is to keep them closed unless they need to be used (triggered). It would be a bad thing if ports could just be opened from a scan.
