Possible EA Xbox 2 lineup

Redbeard

Banned
From IGN

While EA confirmed Batman Begins and Medal of Honor: Dogs of War for fiscal 2005, the bigger news is a line-up of titles reportedly scheduled for Xbox and Xbox Next:

Battlefield: Modern Combat
The Godfather
"Secret Marvel Project"
Black
FIFA Soccer 2006
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2006
Need for Speed: Most Wanted
SSX 4
Urbz 2
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Burnout 4
James Bond: From Russia with Love
FIFA Street 2

While we cannot consider this an official announcement from EA, given that it comes to us from secondary sources, we can say that the list above is in line with our own understanding of EA's next-generation plans. In fact, we're even willing to predict that the "Secret Marvel project" is in fact the long-anticipated Marvel vs. EA fighter. As for another SSX or Need for Speed, well, we're not quite spasming with surprise.

Same list that Folder was talking about?

Everything or nothing sequel?

... don't you know that From Russia With Love was a James bond movie? This is probably a game based off of the movie (if it's true)

I hope they got Sean for the voice work.

It's not possible, it's 100% those game are coming out, not only on Xbox 2 (according to the EA people) but also on Xbox 1 (and the other consoles obviously). All platforms.

I'm the one who heard this information today in Zoetermeer and posted it, cool that IGN took it over I guess. The original source is here http://www.xbw.nl/news/6204/

I even saw SSX4 trailers at the event, looks alright.

It is, and yes you play Sean Connery. ( I don't know if the deal is round yet, but that's what they said or implied). it'll also be like Everything or Nothing (which was actually good), not like GoldenEye, thank the lord.

good to see a non-Underground Need for Speed coming out... though I would want to see what the Underground team could do on next-gen as well

Hey, I look at xboxworld all the time. Ashame I can't read it though. Ever think about publishing simultaneously in english?

They've got rights to EA VS. MARVEL, apparently.

Ugggh... now it'll be filled with EA TRAX.

But maybe EA will make their management unlockable characters so we can beat the hell out of them.

From Russia To Love was an AWESOME Bond movie. One of my favorites. I really hope they don't screw it up. Ah, what am I saying... of course they will. If only they could do with that movie what Rare did with GoldenEye. It would be a classic for sure.

SSX 4, thank the lord. God I love that series so much.

I may have to get both an x-box2 and a ps3 to play that game. I am so stuck on the ps2 controls, I dont know how easy itll be to switch.

i hope xbox 2 doesn't get shafted with a bunch of ports/cross-platform content from this generation, as dreamcast did.

It may for the first year, but that is the price you pay for being first. Especially if their 1st party products aren't up to par.

i remember a year or two ago microsoft stressed the fact that a great launch is essential but a constant flow of good/great games is just as important, and that was one of the reasons dreamcast lost to ps2.

i cant wait to see what MS has up their sleeve, i think they're gonna impress almost everyone.

Need For Speed Underground 3 please.

You have a great car in your avatar, and then you ask for a game filled with garbage cars. This does not compute.

I predict (nostradamus mode :D) that MS will own E3. The number of impressive games for Xbox 2 I've heard they will unveil there is simply awesome. And with EA seeming to be totally supporting the system, they have a very big ace in their sleeve. Some of the games listed in this topic have the Xenon version as a the lead platform AFAIK.
Sony will impress with some incredible tech demos, but in the end I'm pretty sure MS will "win" this E3 once people will get to see the games in action on the showfloor.
4 months is a long time to wait to see all this, even if a few exclusive 3rd party X2 games will be unveiled before that.

Which ones are for XBox and which for XBox2?
All are for both. EA publishes on ALL platforms, literally. This was my understanding of what they said at the meeting. PS3 versions will follow as well when that system launches.

Sweet, nice to hear. Yeah, would love to do English but it's a lot of work to translate etc... :(

EDIT: Madden NFL 2006 will be there, just no interest to Europe....

If they have the marvel license, does that mean they can make games based on Spider-Man? As long as they don't base it on the movies I mean.

Marvel licenses seperatly. Vivendi has Hulk, Acitvision Spiderman, etc. Electronic Arts has a license to use multiple, but ONLY multiple of the superheroes in one game ( So Hulk, Spiderman and others. No seperate heroes in games though, those licenses are taken.

Err, can someone fill me in on who the "EA" of "Marvel vs EA" would be? Marvel vs Capcom makes sense. As does Marvel vs SNK.

But EA??

I guess EA could buy SNK and absorb them?

I think once IGN said it was 'new' characters from EA. I don't know what that means.

It's hard to believe it's 'established' EA characters. :) Tiger Woods and John Madden versus The Hulk and Spiderman! :)

Sounds a bit unlikely. Connery hasn't been on speaking terms with the Bond film people for years.

Well the EA people all but told me. They first said 'it will star one of the best known James Bond's ever'. So I knew it was Connery in that movie, so I said 'Sean Connery eh?' They said ' Bingo!', thats it for my sad attempt at hype'.

So they all but literally said it. I don't understand why Sean Connery would not work with EA Games on Bond, I don't see how he would have to do much with the Bond movie people.

This is all ridiculously early, but:

I hope SSX is good; I actually want them to get away from the "whole mountain" theme of 3; I preferred the design of 1 and especially Tricky, I almost wish they'd make Tricky 2 instead but we'll see, 3 was very good, just not the greatness of Tricky imo. BO4 will turn out quite well I'm guessing.

Out of the rest there'll probably be 1-3 good ones that I'll pick up, the only near- guaranteed non-buys for me at this point are Urbz 2, FIFA, Tiger Woods, Harry Potter, and Bond.

You will have four general area's (of difficulty?) in SSX4 (I saw the trailers). It's one big mountain again though. Also like I said before, you will be abe to ski, as well as snowboard.

It looked pretty cool with projective shadowing and actually it looked pretty realistic from he very few in-game material I saw Only the enviroments where as unrealisitc as the other versions, but the overal setting was pretty convincing when in motion.

Also the carreer mode will be added of course, I couldn't figure out what was new in that mode, but I'm sure it'll have a catch.

Ya know, its not really a big event if the EA characters used in "EA VS Marvel" are going to be all-new. I mean in Capcom VS Marvel, you thought, "Wow. Wolverine and Spider-Man are fighting with Megaman and Morrigan. Cool!". A bunch of generic Todd MacFarlane-looking characters nobody's ever seen before aren't exactly going to thrill anybody.

Unless they ARE going to be using the likes of Harry Potter, Frodo, and James Bond. Then it'll be well worth the price of admission just for the laugh!

People will be surprised the number of SKUs with no announced PS3 port...

It's no surprise, because the publisher can't give people $$ when they don't know the hardware and how long it's going to take to convert.

Well, duh, PS3 will possibly only hit US shores a year after Xenon. I wouldn't expect to hear about any EA PS3 games (or many PS3 games generally) for quite some time.

These are all ready to be ported to any other platform sticking it's neck up though, it's EA. PS3 owners will get them.

i was thinking eddy (ssx),stranger and james pond ;)

FRwL is a great movie, but it doesn't have any huge action set pieces that are obvious candidates for gameplay. Definitely no ride in a tank through Moscow as in Goldeneye. I guess though it will give the developer more freedom to implement action sequences and still follow the plot loosely.

Good to see the new Need For Speed won't be another Underground.

Damn, I can't wait to see what MS has in store for Xbox 2. We'll probably get the first official info in March, right? Let's hope they release it in 2005 in Europe too.

Btw, any word on backward compatibility for xbox games on Xbox 2?

It's not completely decided yet as far as I know. If they go for the 2 Xbox SKU (one bare model, one with HD and more multimedia functionalites) then there is a chance the one with HD will have backward compatibilty. AFAIK (again) they already have a prototype emulator working with some games, but getting a 100% compatibilty rate AND having all the licenses from Intel and Nvidia for the emulation will be very difficult, not to say expansive.
