Possible inFAMOUS Remakes in PlayStation Development

X' posts summary:
Journalist Jordan Middler shared on podcasts that a reliable source points to an inFAMOUS project underway at PlayStation Studios, separate from Sucker Punch, likely remakes of the 2009 and 2011 PS3 originals featuring electricity-wielding courier Cole MacGrath. Sucker Punch, fresh off Ghost of Tsushima, once said no revival plans in a now-deleted blog post, but director Nate Fox has expressed fondness for a potential trilogy re-release. Fans share excitement over rooftop zaps, Blast Shard hunts, and moral choices returning, amid Sony's pattern of reviving old IPs like Freedom Wars and Patapon—though Sony stays silent and nothing is confirmed.

According to VGC's Jordan Middler on the VGC Podcast:
"There is a groundswell of people that want Infamous. I'm under the impression that there is an Infamous thing happening somewhere else in PlayStation at the minute."

Additional details:
- It may NOT be developed by Sucker Punch Productions
- Fans are speculating it could be:
• A remaster/remake of the original games
• A PS5 collection
• Or a completely new entry

BLUEPOINT WAS RIGHT THERE YOU STUPID FUCKS
a.) Gamers do not seem to pay for the quality of Bluepoint vs the likes of Virtuous in general (users and companies both try to save money no ;)?)

b.) Virtuous is cheaper

c.) I get the feeling that Bluepoint's leadership and possible studio core did not want to do remakes and remasters anymore either which created a problem

3 or 4 years ago Sucker punch mentioned they didn't have in the works and didn't plan to work in the future in any Sly Racoon or Infamous project inside or outside Sucker Punch.

I assume the only option would be that Nixxes ran out of top PS5 and PS4 games to port to PC, so maybe went with porting a PS5+PC collection. Maybe at PlayStation Productions after so many adaptations that they made or are in the works, may also be running of IPs to adapt, so maybe plan to do Infamous too, so in that case a collection would be nice to have to release it somewhere close (at least the PC port). Sucker Punch seems also the only big Sony studio not working in multiple games at the same time, so maybe some quick external port/remaster would help their numbers.

I think isn't very likely, but it's possible.

Bluepoint was right there.

Bluepoint said didn't want to work again in remasters or remakes again.

Would buy anything that allows me to replay InFamous and InFamous 2 at 4K and 60fps.

Second Son already has basically perfect IQ and runs at 60fps. And still looks as amazing as it did 12 years ago.

If you really want to make a new one, zero woke shit or GTFO.

Really enjoyed these games. Kept meaning to go back to platinum them so if these did come out and had less "collect all shards" and user created content related trophies, maybe I would.

Now if they also release the Prototype remakes/remasters/sequel around the same time, it would be perfect.

Honestly the one PS3-era franchise I want back the most.

The rest are either well-served or I don't care about.

Those are the best, yes. I replayed Infamous 1 on PS3 a few months ago. Loved the morality system, the powers, the story. It was still a fun game. New coat of paint would do wonders. Going to play Infamous 2 again soon.

Infamous 2 was fun but I recall not liking the story as much as 1.

Have you read this back to yourself, OP?

It's basically "something might be in the works". Pure, pointless, speculation.

Until something official is announced it's all just a waste of everyone's time.

The first Infamous was a decent game for its time but Infamous 2 was amazing, Full of epic moments and set pieces.
The one on PS4 was a step back in every way except graphics. Dont know what they were trying with that one.

Damn i really liked infamous and dlc for ps4 and the two PS3 games are much better? Can't wait for the remakes.

So they're making remakes of one the best Supeheros games out there, without the best developer to make remake/remasters? Why kill Bluepoint then? How are they that stupid?

Yes, I put rumor tag in the title.
Edit : it seems not tagged as rumor, sorry. I ask a mod to add that, many thanks.

Are we all forgetting Bluepoint pushed to do the GoW live service game and wanted to make original AAA stuff? Sonys mismanagement was letting them but they probably had good will post their remakes.

Bluepoint also pitched doing remakes/remasters after their live service game was cancelled. How Sony kills the studio while at the same time planning more remakes is truly baffling.

I've heard it said that the last boss in Infamous 2 on the evil path is one of the most difficult boss fights ever. (Just not in the way you'd think.)

I would love to see the first two games live on with a remake or remaster.
Thats how i always view remakes and remasters. Your old games you love being brought back to present day and back to relevancy.

They are also more often than not outsourced, so its not like a first party studio is doing it instead of making something new.

The more remakes and remasters the better for me.

Interesting. I'll be doing both good and evil playthroughs soon so probably will play evil first to check that out. Thanks for not posting a spoiler. lol

I guess thats one way to look at it. I mean, if they don't touch it, then great news. But with modern Sony anything is possible.
