Saw this game for sale today and I was half going to buy it but I don't know if it'll hold up that well in this post-Burnout3 gaming world. This is the PS2 version I'm talking about. (I know the GC/XBOX versions are completely different)

Also.. is 007 EON more than just a FPS title with car/:gasp: minigames and is this worth the cash?

a bit hard to tell from the box. I'm a lot more interested in EON now. (not a fpswhorebag)

NFS:HP2 is definately worth $20. The graphics are great, especially for an EA game, but what's more important is that it's a blast to play. I think it has better replay value than BO3. There's a ton of stuff to unlock in both, but NFS is more rewarding to me. After I unlocked everything in BO3, I didn't find much point in going back to it. NFS on the other hand is still fun to go back to. When I'm in the mood for a good arcade racer, it's my first choice (although I am having fun w/Ridge Racer PSP right now). They're both great games, but NFS is still my favorite racer so far this gen.

i can't put my finger on it, but NFS: HP2 is just a bit more fun to play than Burnout, Burnout 3 included. Make sure you get the PS2 version of HP2 though, as the GC and Xbox version aren't as polished.

NFS: HP2 is the second best arcade racer on PS2 (the first being RRV). I'm an EA hater too. The game is incredible with the Logitech wheel also. Absolutely get it no matter what.

NFS: HP2 is amazing. Nothing quite like it race wise. You run from the police for god's sake! Or be the police if that's your bag. I love all the shortcuts, etc. as well. Great game, drop the Underground shite and go back to this!

I think EON is a bit overrated, personally.

well, bought both of these today but I don't think I'll have time til the weekend or maybe later. Glad to read the seriously good remarks for NFS HP2. I played the first one and thought the mechanics (chase) was great.

Oh Musashi.. you posted a bit late. Anyhow I have EON now too.

Is NFS Underground 1 or 2 anygood?

NFSU2 is pretty good, but the soundtrack is godawful and the course design is pretty generic overall, especially in comparison to NFS:HP2. Pick it up when it hits $20 if you're curious.

It's been said elsewhere in the thread, but yeah, make damn sure you get the PS2 version of NFS:HP2. Totally different game than the GCN/Xbox/PC version. Not a "the port didn't go too well" situation. The PS2 version is literally a different (and superior) game.

well.. I bought the PS2 version of NFSHP2; approximate USD price = $15. Same for my brand new copy of EON. THe aussie EB is having a sale. ^_^
