Post credits scenes

When the credits roll it's time to go when watching movies, there's now additional content that shouldn't be there, also the credits mean it's time to go. I feel like post credits content is apart of more and more movies today what does GAF think?

I've always stayed during credits, it was part of the movie experience for me even before post credits scenes became as commonplace as they are now. I just like listening to the music and reflecting on the film.

They were a cool gimmick in the first few years of the MCU, but now they are just fucking tiresome, and boil down only to this:

Scenes that play after the credits roll are the bane of my existence, if you have more to say or want to give a little sign of whats next, do it as soon as the movie is over.

As soon as the credits start I'm up out of my seat.

Get to fuck if you think I'm going to sit through a list of names for 5 minutes just to watch a teaser for the sequel.

The one in the new Scream really tickled me. I got what I deserved.

A 5 second clip with one of the characters saying "and not every movie needs a post credits scene."

Never understood credit scenes to start with.

When u buy a product, u going to read all the names of people that worked on it? nope. It's pointless.

I mean I get it but the counter argument is: You sat there for two and a half hours, might as well stay for another 5 mins.

Hush....hush.........just be quiet and consume!!

It was 30 years after the fact I learned there was one at the end of that he man movie. Pretty neat. Sometimes they can be cool.

I would much rather they have a very short set of credits lasting 1-2 mins followers by post credit scene instead of waiting 10 mins for a 10 second scene.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off has one of the best post-credits scene: "The movie's over. Go home."

Also some fun trivia:

"The Silencers (1966) was the first post-credits scene to be featured in a general release film. The scene depicts lead character Matt Helm lying shirtless on what appears to be a rotating sofa along with 10 scantily-clad women."

Yeah, no fuck off.

I'm not staying 30 minutes more for 30 seconds of advertising your next shitty movie. It's disrespectful of your audience. I'll *maybe* watch it on Youtube.

Mid credit scenes/teases are ok.

Post credits are a waste of time. Better be a real damn reward and not just superman cracking a fart or some shit like most of them are like these days.

I am not a fan of post credit scenes at all. An Easter egg or a silly joke is fine but the way the MCU does it is gross.

Pixar did it best on toy story. Rush Hour too iirc. Jackie Chan films feels like they get bloopers scenes a lot.

Bloopers credit scene makes me stay for the whole credits while still being entertained.

My local theater started placing signs near the entrance to each movie with a laminated sheet of paper that says

This movie has ___ mid-credit scenes

This movie has ___ after-credit scenes

Where the staff then writes in how many of each for each movie.

I always used to sit during the credits well before the post-credits teaser was a thing. I got it from my dad, as he always did the same thing. I appreciate being able to just sit for a moment while everyone else is rushing around and clogging the aisles. Now that the post-credits scene is a thing, perhaps the opposite is true.

Remember when film credits used to be so short they were AT THE BEGINNING of the film?

Now they are 15 min long with 85% of that shit being a list of animators who spent 3 days on 1 frame of animation. Fuck that noise!

Bloopers or Ferris Bueller. The rest is trash for nerds like that guy who cries from Star Wars trailers

I don't typically sit through the credits unless there's more footage such as bloopers playing at the same time, but I see it is an encore which is a good thing, whether I sit through it or not.
