God no! Id choose Death over that I think. 6 1/2 the first then 5 1/2 to finish.
Armpit area is just brutal.

Yeah I think that 5 is the most I've done in a sitting. I hate getting tattooed, I just like the results. Despite hating getting tattooed, I've had my stomach and ribs done, neither of which I recommend anyone do. Probably similar to the chest tattoo on previous page as far as pain, though I've heard chest isn't quite as bad as either. I could get my arms tattooed all day, though the inside of the bicep is a little tender like you said.

Wow! Beautiful!

Thanks :) I couldn't be more happy with it, was done totally freehand. I first saw her at the Edinburgh Tattoo Convention and had her to a piece for me in May (posted elsewhere in this thread). Her sister, Brunella is equally talented, specialises in a more macabre style.

Long shot but can anyone recommend anyone doing work in Central Florida?

Might be a little late, but I got this finished saturday by a guy named brian dewitt at atomic tattoos near ucf. It's my first tattoo and I'm absolutely lovin' it. The dude was pretty cool, I'd definitely recommend checkin him out at least.. Sorry for the iphone crappy pic/hobbitfoot:

Can anyone recommend a good tattoo artist in or near London/Greater London? Preferably not Central as they charge ridiculous prices. I was someone good, but don't want to take out a mortgage to cover it.

I want to get a sleeve started on my right arm, starting off with comic book characters, so someone adept in this area would be good.

No idea about london tatt artists, but what kinda comic stuff are you looking at? As I mentioned upthread, I'm thinking about getting some comic book tattoos and so I'm always interested in what other people are getting.

Lal Hardy's New Wave in Muswell hill is supposed to be good, it's where my boss gets hers done.

I've been planning on a Cthulhu tattoo for a while now, and this one is the most amazing i've seen, bravo sir! I'm in talks now with a local artist to get it done, and was planning on a cross between something like you have here, and THIS or THIS.

Well I'll be starting off with Sandman at the top of my arm. Then an Ennis character slightly lower down, but I haven't decided which one yet.

Has anyone here gotten a tattoo with traditional tools?

I'll be going to the tropics in a few months and wanted to get a piece done old-school style. Just curious on what to expect.

Holy shit, this is fucking awesome.

Could you pm me the original design? I have something similar on my leg and kind of want to add on to it.

Would be much appreciated.

Sorry, there wasn't really an original design. I just explained what I wanted to the artist and he drew it up and we went from there

Oh no worries man. That is some sweet work though.

I'll post mine as soon as I get a working camera. The camera on my phone does them no justice.

Thinking about getting a huge tattoo with my name on my back, can't make up my mind though, I'm scared that I'm gonna regret it...

Also thinking about getting one with my mother's name on but I can't decide where I want it and how big. Is it kinda creepy with the year of birth and death? Maybe her name "June" is sufficient...?

absolutely not, I kind of wish I would have thought of that for mine

I'd suggest getting an image that instantly brings her to mind over her name or portrait.

what's your artists name?

Some really amazing tattoos in here!

I don't think I will ever get a tattoo which is kind of a shame for me. I just don't think there is any design I would want that I can guarantee I will still like it on my body in 10+ years. I have a few ideas that seem really cool to me now, but I imagine myself down the line thinking "I can't believe I agreed to have this attached to me forever".

This thread needs way more love.

If you're scared you're going to regret it, trust me: you're definitely going to regret it sooner or later. Your mother's name or dates are much better and nice though, and putting the dates... not really creepy but depends on how you do it or the font used. A friend of mine got tattoed just the date a friend of his died and is really elegant as it looks like just a random date.

Trust me, I'd give it much more love if my skin wasn't a bitch (eczema, eruptions, rashes...). I've considered scarification before but I'm scared to hell and back of pain and almost complete inability to get rid of it.

Getting my eagle finished off and my shoulder done mid-april. Can't wait!

Also there's a tattoo convetion this weekend...... very prepared to get a time-filler, lol.

Got a couple new ones last Friday. These are right after they were done, you'll have to wait for healed pictures as they're peeling pretty horribly right now. The artist that did them does a great job, but she goes over everything 3-4 time so there's layers and layers of colors. Which looks great, but I think the healing process is a little rougher.

Tribute piece for my Mom (who plays/teaches piano) and my dad (who is a mechanic).

I missed the last couple times this got bumped apparently.
I haven't (though I plan to try to get one next time I am in the Phils), but a buddy in Korea took leave to go to Thailand and he got one done while he was there. He was walking around some small village and saw a sign pointing into the jungle that said, in English, 'Tattoos.' So he followed a tiny trail down to a hut and got a tattoo hammered into his skin. It was an elephant. Looked pretty cool and was certainly a cool story.

I would get one done.
