SPD is also a major turning point, because it's where a lot of people had seen the Sentai version before the adaptation. The series airing during it (Magiranger) was a lot of peoples' first time diving into Sentai. It was certainly mine.

This Red Ranger is actually acting like the Japanese clips of many Red Rangers before him. You know what I mean. Some Sentai Red Rangers in PR clips had them doing stuff that wouldn't fit the American characters. This guy feels like he can actually pull off some of the clips with his personality.
