POWER STONE COLLECTION for PSP

There's way to much positiveness in this thread - let me balance it out a bit.

Jeezus y'all, you're getting giddy over an old arcade port? Yay! A game that I have that is collecting dust on my Dreamcast because no one wants to play it anymore is going to be released on a portable that not many folks around me play! Of course it won't be online, it won't have the gameplay precision of a Dreamcast or arcade joystick, and the extras will probably not be too different from the the same stuff that we played on our DCs 5 years ago. Where's the original games, Capcom? Where's the new IPs? Where's the game software that really takes advantage of the hardware with quick loadtimes, multiplayer, beautiful graphics, and quick session gameplay? I guess arcade games come close to defining that request. So should I get all fanboyish when Capcom releases Strider and Gigawing on the PSP too?! BAH! If I wanted Arcade ports, I'd play an emulator.

:lol

We should archive that. Seriously though, I would've rather seen this on a console so you could play online or with other people with controllers. Do a lot of you guys know other people with PSPs or something?

And nobody answered my question if single player is any good (I've never played it).

I really need to play this.

Why no DS love from Capcom?

Buy a PSP!

Anyways, this game should have infrastructure mode!

The important thing about this is that POWER STONE LIVES.

We all thought it was the bastard child that Capcom had put in a sack and thrown in the river for not doing as well as it's siblings.

But no!

Add another HOLY FUCK to the pile.

As a rule, I don't care much about ports... but they announced pretty much the only two ports that could get me excited. How they nailed it so exactly on the target, I don't know... but if they don't sell, it'd be a crime. Cause this is damn perfect.

Me too, and I expect many others feel the same. Both games get the hooded cult love for good reason and they will be awesome portable games to boot!

New stages:

Uhmn, it's been a while since I've played Power Stone 2, but I'm pretty sure it already had that level. (I just hope they adjust that pain in the ass sphynx-like boss.)

And this is hot... but at the same time, it's not a new game, it's another port (a nicely touched-up one, admittingly) of two Dreamcast games. And no online for Powerstone 2 when the original Japanese DC release had it does stink just a bit.

Still, though, very tempting.

Every time you cry about these awesome Capcom ports for PSP, an angel dies and his holy blood is transformed into a brand new IP for Nintendo DS.

Hmm, can't remember it but I did play a lot more Power Stone 1 than 2, so you might be right.

I'd like to apologize in advance. To my mother, bish, Vennt, and the rest of the folks not on my ignore list; but I flipped a coin and it came up heads. :(

*ahem*

I agree with the haters, the PSP is a haven for crappy ports of shovelware!

ARGH! CURSE YOU WILL POWER! CURSE YOU U.S. MINT FOR ONLY PUTTING TWO SIDES ON A QUARTER! >:(

OMG!!!!!!!

WHY DOES EVERYONE CARE ABOUT PORTS OF OLD GAMES

Soo when nintendo ports over old nes games on the GBA, that's ok? but when Capcom ports good Capcom games to the PSP thats bad?

You get a Resident evil'd.

Why no DS love from Capcom?

A new Phoenix Wright and new megaman are announced.

Perhaps Nintendo simply doesn't want titles for their systems being shown off with other formats.

'Cause Power Stone on the DS would be an ugly massacre, and they already released Puzzle Fighter on GBA.

Wacky - I stumbled across a copy of the Power Stone cartoon earlier today in the mall... got me thinking to re-hook up the old Dreamcast... come home and BAM! What a way to start the weekend.

I was borderline ready to sell my PSP again... after hating SFA3 (f you Sony and your D-pad too) and holding out for Powered Up I was ready to throw in the towel. Looks like I'll have to hold on to it a little while longer.

But on that note, is this another case of the Capcom curse? It's seems every system they throw their support on ends up meeting a sad death... CONSPIRACY THEORY - perhaps N has told Capcom not to make a buttload of DS titles for a reason... I KEED.

It's nothing personal, i'm sure. Capcom just likes playing 'savior of the underdog'. They throw a ton of support at whatever console is selling less at the moment. They did this with Dreamcast for a time, they did this with Gamecube for a time, and they'll do this with PSP for a time. Capcom is the anti-Square/Enix :)

The Capcom 5! :O
Exactly what I said:
No, they are just concentrating on the worst platforms again. Unless Dead Rising and Lost Planet are also coming to PS3 at launch, Capcom is making the exact same mistake they did with the Capcom 5.
Nobody believes me. :(

Given that the PSP in one year has done as well as the GCN in 2 1/2 years, I'd say you're pretty far off, at least as far as handhelds go. Capcom's franchises just fit better on the PSP, IMO.

But do they sell better? I mean, as gamers obviously we're going to get them anywhere, but Capcom should consider putting the games where they will sell the most.

Never got into the PowerStone games that much, they were ok but the stages were abit too small for my tastes.

Good news I guess. Maybe they'll get busy and bring over Cannon Spike, thats one game I played forever.

That might be a good point when the platforms are out for a few years, but the psp is still relatively new and needs games. This seems to be less about the games selling well and more about it not being on your platform of choice

Booo for no infrastructure mode. FUCK YEA for game sharing, hells yea!! A FUCKING HELLS YEA for Powerstone Collection PSP!

POWERSTONE-A WAR!!

Yeah... such a big fanboy here, I guess I'm a fanboy of not wanting to spend money since I'm getting flamed by every Sony/MS/Nintendo fanboy on this forum in one thread or another.

I could whine about this not being a new game but then I'd be out of my mind, its frriggin Power Stone! If Capcom keeps up the quality like with Ghosts & Goblins and the Mega Man series then I don't care, PORT AWAY CAPTAIN.

If you are not a fanboy, then what are you? Why do you care if some good games end up on the psp? And please don't use the excuse that they won't sell on the psp because you have no way of knowing.

I'll admit that I'll be dissapointed if this has significant new content (stages/characters) and doesn't show up on a home console. I like my PSP and all, but I'd love to be able to make use of multiplayer without having four systems around.

If the new content is pretty throw-away (as it sounds right now), then I'll still have the DC version.

sony should just put a capcom logo on the psp shell, because they are carrying the damn thing. powerstone ftw.

Powerstone would look like shit on the DS.

Yea, but if people take the time to read this thread they will see on GAF alone there are quite a few people who never even touched this game. Hell, Dreamcast died early so quite alot of people never had a chance to play this wonderful game. And now here it is. They obviously can't port it to Xbox now, that would be a mistake with it dead in the water. Maybe, maybe Gamecube but even a release on PS2 at this point would probably get lost on the gamer base. I said it before and I will say it again, the PSP should get everything at this point that you would normally see on this generation of consoles. They can keep it alive right through next gen.

I guess I'm a one console/handheld future fanboy. Since I don't support any specific company.

I don't want it on the DS. Those who think I Powerstone on the DS are idiots, I just want to see more PS2/3/DS games. DR + LO for PS3 plz, and some franchsies on DS too.
