It doesn't help that the definitive version was on Dreamcast. I love DC, and have both Power Stones, but let's face it: it just didn't give Power Stone the exposure it needed.

That and it came out near simultaneously with Soul Calibur.

This is great news. Far too long has Powerstone been overlooked! Capcom is going to make me buy a PSP. GnG, the Megaman games, SFA3 and now POWERSTONE! Hell yes! Both games were awesome and I have fond memories of playing an import of the first one for months before the DC came out in the U.S. My friends and I played it like crazy and thrilled in finding new ways to attack using the levels themselves. Then when Powerstone 2 came out, the party started all over again, albeit much less so than with the 1st.

I love my DS and all, but a DS version would be stupid. I wish that it was coming out on a console (I don't care what), but at least it's coming at all.

What was the PowerStone-like game on the GameCube? Came out in Japan near launch.

That would be Rave Groove Adventure. It came out last March in North America as Rave Master (& I just scored myself a copy a couple weeks ago). I love it, but it's no Powerstone.

Power Stone never ever got the respect it deserved. When it was released all I ever heard from fighting game players was that it lacked depth. I found it to have completely reinvented the fighting genre. The depth was not found in the traditional code breaker button combos but in using the enviornment and using the counter dodges to manuever around the other player Matrix style. Hopefully so many years after its release it finds the sort of audience it should have.

I remember the only figthing game I was playing when Power Stone launched was Smash Bros. Classic versus games then died, and just become for hardcore gamers. Power Stone and Smash Bros formed a tremendous duo that resurged figthing. Thanks to both.

I sold my dreamcast now, powerstone was the only reason to keep it for me.
Also I´m a big PANG fan, and capcom is bringing a puzzle collection.....
So PSP will be in my house soon.
