Pragmata - Reviews Thread

I can't keep up with all of these games! This one seems really interesting, but I'll be picking it up later in the year because Saros is my next day 1.

...damn it. Another game to add to the list of April. Still going to wait for Saros to decide which game to purchase this month. This game reminds me a lot of Binary Domain, which is a very very good thing. Capcom is really on a roll.

Really enjoyed that demo. Definitely buying this one at some point, this year. Great to see it's well received. Expecting that for Onimusha too.

Took a quick look through some reviews and many mention the same things :

- The characters and their chemistry is great (for those that feared that Diana would get annoying)

- Story is surprisingly good

- Great game/combat loop (that doesn't get tiring like many feared)

- Level design is great (I've actually seen the term "Metroidvania-esque" quoted/mentioned, can go back to previous areas

- Great exploration/many findable goodies across them

- Esthetics/art direction are praised

- One of the best looking RE engine games with near flawless performance

- One of the "best modern Capcom games"

I'm so fucking in !

FightnCowboy said - "the level of quality they did modeling Diana after a real child is phenomenal...

a lot of heavy moments, if you're a dad, you're going to get hit with the fucking feels playing this"

Seems like its a really short game. I dont have time for it since CD and Rogue Trader are ocuppying my time for at least another month, but someday when its super cheap, I'll prolly bite.

Was planing on buying this day 1 but then came a game called Crimson Desert.

I'm pushing this one back.
Funny, I pushed back CD because of all the other great games coming over the next few months. Figured I'd give it the time needed to finish polishing their issues.

Capcom is a day1 dev, and practically has been since the 90s!

> Brand new AAA IP that takes legitimate risks.
> Innovative new mechanics that help the game differentiate itself from the rest.
> $60 instead of the 70-80 bucks asked nowadays.
> No open-world bloat.

Can we have more of these?

Glad it turned out, and sounds like Capcom did super solid work on the Switch 2 version (and it's releasing day one, not way later or mysteriously delayed for some reason). Not sure why other devs seem to be having issues with this. I'm interested in checking it out but don't think I'll be day one, a shorter action game like this I'll probably wait for a sale.

Better than I expected.
The demo was pretty fun but I wasn't sure how well it would scale up to a full game experience, but it sounds like they nailed it.

It's definitely going on the wishlist.

I preordered it after the demo dropped. Glad to see it reviewing well and I hope it pays off in good sales. Going in blind otherwise.

Didn't expect much from this, but glad to see it's reviewing well. Seemed kind of like Vanquish, with a dash of Astral Chain. I won't be there at launch but perhaps one day down the line. I hope it succeeds regardless.

Have the game pre-ordered on Steam because the demo was already fantastic, great to see that Capcom delivered yet another hit. Friday can't come soon enough!

The demo also has a couple shortcuts if you go back to it. I caught the Resident Evil loop of level design they hinted at when I found them.

the game is £50 on steam man, for 7-10 fucking hours... seriously, I hate how things are nowadays.

Absolutely wild to me that so many indie games below £20 at launch that have 100, 200 and sometimes more gameplay time. SUCKS cause I really like the look of this, just cant justify that cost per hour. Will grab on deep sale

Better than I expected but I am buying it regardless. Demo was really fucking good. Got all the drawings.

yeah in case it wasn't obvious I was being sarcastic lol.

But still, seems the game is short.

The reviews are a positive surprise and I'm also satisfied with the projected length. It would probably be 15-20 hours with my usual playstyle, just like in RE9.

Crimson Desert is taking my free time right now, so I'll just wait a few months and get it on sale.

I already have it pre-ordered on marketing alone. I've been mulling over trying the demo or just waiting for the full game.

I read somewhere the demo might not represent the final game as there could've been changes.

Is the segment shown in the demo part of the full game or is it a purpose built demo like RE7?

It's not though, most Resident Evil games are around the same length as Requiem.
I was just pointing out that depending on how you engage with the game, those 'it's only 8 hours' claims don't come out of nowhere. I've seen streamers finish it in 6 hours.

But cutscenes are part of the game and nobody skipping those on the first playthrough. Why would you want to cut out the playtime of those?
I mean.. cuscenes are a part of the experience? Take out the cutscenes from MGS4 (or all MGS games) and you have like 3-4 hrs of actual gameplay lol

I wasn't saying anything deep here, just talking about actual gameplay time versus total runtime. Relax.
