Im trying to get my mom's dvd player to work with her tv using component cables, and I assume it needs to be in an alternate video mode for that but this is pre-svideo tvs so im thinking maybe a special channel? The two universal remotes she has wont switch the tv to another video mode.

The menu on the tv doesnt have the option either, just the option to switch between TV and Cable TV and mess with languages. Thoughts? Experiences?

You mean composite, right?

The only way to get to a composite input other than a dedicated "input" button is to use channel 0.

yeah composite, I even meant to type composit. So 000 is default for composite input?

I bet if you push the channel down button below ch.2 or ch.1, it will just switch to the composite input automatically.

The channels should say depending on the models of tvs.


Try hooking the DVD player up to the VCR using A/V in the front panel.

VCR Channels below channel 2 are:
Line 1
Line 2

TV Channels below channel 2 are:

AUX
Video 1
Video 2
Video 3 (If your tv has more than 3 video inputs)
S-Video (If your tv supports that)
