I haven't had to wear a condom in a couple years thanks to the gf wearing the patch, but if you're in a situation where you need to use them, I recommend the thin and lubricated Trojans. Those expensive Japanese imports were never that impressive for the price (friend bought me a box of them and a 12 pack of beer for undergrad graduation).
