If there is a link to a channel other than "Right Side Radio" with this video, I'd prefer that. Probably don't want to give views to RSR.

I didn't even read the comments. The description of the youtube clip says everything:

October 1, 2015: Obama addresses the nation after the tragic shooting at Umpqua Community College in Oregon today in which 13 were killed and many more injured. The President used this tragedy as an opportunity to advance...you guessed it: Gun control.

I didn't even read the comments. The description of the youtube clip says everything:

*Gasp* My god, the Nerve of Obama! Using (Yet another) School shooting as an opportunity to talk about the need for gun control! Doesn't he know that you must never politicizes a tragedy? We can't talk about gun control until all the shootings stop! /s

I would imagine the Fox News coverage to sound like:

"I think it was totally inappropriate for the president to lose his cool about this."

"I mean, it's probably how he was raised. You know, like his background"

People don't give a fuck as long as it doesn't affect them. They just don't have any sort of empathy.

Why do they even bother pretending to care?

Which is fucking needed. Too many cases that demonstrate this. Fuck. Ban them altogether. Don't give a damn for, again, too many case to show why its needed. UK and and many other countries are proof. Fucking hell for the way the description was implicating though. Someone give that uploader a kick! The fool.

RIP ppl...

Thats about as angry as I have ever seen an acting president. Dude looks like he wants to punch someone and rightfully so.

Betcha he's getting tired of giving this speech. I'm certainly getting tired of hearing it.

My condolences to the victims of the next one.

So what is he going to do about it?

he asked the media to collect data and report side by side people killed by terrorists vs. shootings, since the government cant conduct the study themselves (i linked that above).

he then called upon reasonable gun owners, who do it for sport, hunting, or protecting their families, to start speaking up, since there is no reason why there cant be a reasonable conversation to be had.

all in the video

Inappropriate for the president to lose his cool? FOH..

Guns and (crazy) peoples access to them are a problem. We owe it to ourselves and our country to try and do something besides throw up our hands.

Maybe we should start thinking it's inappropriate for people to go on about "Politicizing a tragedy."

It's not politicizing it's common fucking sense.

Just watched this. Wow, dropping bombs. Something needs to change, and it can make a difference. We know it can, the data tells us as much.

When American exceptionalism cultivates a self-image of egocentricity, you will, as a result of this conditioning, get a great number of people who only care for their bubbles regarding life. They've bought into the full game of being an isolated, standalone person, totally cut off from their own mental social nets. These would be the same people who probably care little about the abuse that goes into the things they consume, or the world they live in, where their lifestyle may be more bad than good.

These people are already outside of reality in this sense. It will only take suffering in the domain of one's own egocentricity that one sort of "wakes up" to this bubbled thinking.

Useless.
The speech was awesome, but a waste of time, and he knows that. I can feel his frustration, but Gun Laws will likely not change in the foreseeable Future.

This whole situation is just depressing.

Didn't want to put it in the OP, but I also found this.

Totally insane gun nut responds to speech. Like "I don't even know if this thing took place" crazy. This is what we're up against.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeD0eR3ol6c

I don't know that the ratification of the second amendment ever took place.

All we have to show is some old document that could easily be forged on blank parchment made back in the same time period

Maybe since our old system isn't working we should have a new system. Of course Americans are so obsessive over the idea of the gun that a million babies can be shot and republicans will still go "guns don't kill people, people kill people so we should should give guns to people to kill people who kill people" all while insisting that president Obama is a muslim Kenyan spy who wants to oppress the American populace by taking away their AK-47s.

As an Oregonian, good on Mr. Obama (didn't know he has visited Roseburg). Gun laws need to change, or else the wheel of tragedy will keep turning with no end in sight.

If we had a Congress & House that actually worked for the people instead of slobbering on the knob of the special interests' groups that help feed their egos by getting them re-elected, imagine the good a sensible president could do. Instead, we're stuck with radical Christians, morons, and expatriates from Bioshock's Columbia in those seats. It seems even common sense is an exclusively Democratic trait now. I hate the fact that if I turn on Fox News right now, there will be people condemning Obama for this speech. People who'll be too busy giving auditory hand-jobs to the far-right wing. People who get paid enough money to forget about the rest of America, who hate the poor, the needy, the non-white, the non-American. It's so disappointing it makes one lose faith in the idea of capitalism and democracy and stop voting, and yet we must vote. To stop idiots from getting into power. To stop the short-sighted from dooming the rest of us. Because if a Republican candidate wins next year, we, as a nation, will be screwed.

This is the *perfect* material for "Government staged the attacks to make it easier to take our guns" crowd.

And that crowd is deceptively huge, and dumb as fuck.

Can someone explain this to a non American?

You need citizens to vote at a state of federal level that you want tougher gun control?

Or do the citizens not even have that power?
