Running on the Doom 3 engine.

It seems to me, that all games running on the Doom 3 engine must look exactly like Doom 3 expansions.

I'm already spent on the Doom 3 Engine and only 2 games have been released that use it. Why must they use the exact same artistic style? I'm waiting for screens of Duke using the U3 engine.

Did they really have to make ol spider-legs there? That's no way to hide the fact you're totally ripping off the game of the engine you're using. I like that second shot though bloom effects are cool if used properly.

the only thing similar to doom3 is the dark color palette and the fact that you can tell its running on the doom3 engine as far as i can tell.

The really do all look alike. I hope that isn't what we can expect next generation. Dozens of similar FPS games...

Maybe they got the dregs that got cut from Doom 3. :lol

Sorry, it looks good, but all I can think of is Doom 3, and ....well....

Man, the blind Doom 3 hate is really amazing.

This looks like Doom 3? Have you lost your mind?

This looks like The Longest Journey, like a pre-rendered screen from an adventure game. I'll save this for the next-gen screen wars I think it'll come in handy.

only the screen with the well lit room looks good...the others do look like Doom3. I enjoyed Doom3, but I prefer large vibrant environments to play in over the dark and claustrophobic.

EDIT: yes, this development team do seem to know what they are doing regarding texturing.

Stunning. Anyone who thinks otherwise has lost their mind.

Technically stunning, certainly. The character design in these screens is far from stunning though. Or perhaps I've lost my mind.

Doom 3 looked good, don't get me wrong. But the game was fucking boring as all hell.

Anything that reminds me of it just tickles that memory.

Graphic whores rejoice!! This game looks so much like Doom3 only an x360 fan could say otherwise. Come on...

Wtf? Event Horizon? :lol

That's EXACTLY what I thought when I saw that pic... it's just like that bit in Event Horizon, only with snazzier looking special effects.

Some of the best looking utter shit I've seen.

I don't think this is what they had in mind when the game was to go into production in '96 or so.

It's a testament to the wonder that is the Unreal 3 engine when I can go 'meh' looking at a Doom 3 engine game.

When will people learn? Normal mapped games cannot be judged solely by screenshots, they have to be seen in movement to fully appreciate their graphics, being the Doom 3 engine one of the biggest examples due its dramatic lightning.

As dumb and mediocre Doom 3 was, it looked gorgeous on a high end PC and I do not expect nothing different from Prey in this regard (well, unless they screw up the animations)

I too expect nothing different. It will be gorgeous on a high end PC AND dumb and mediocre.

But I am all for having my expectations be wrong here.

This have (has?) to be be different.
For the Doom fanatics - there's Quake 4, for the Turok fanatics - there's Prey :)
