Probably old news, but new to me. I've been waiting for this guide for a while and today it was sitting on the gamestore shelf.

Would it add much to the general fans appreciation of GT4? Hard to say. It's a lot of general fan service information that probably should have been in the game itself. Details about the manufacturers, tracks, etc. But interspersed between all the highlighting are tips about tuning and car history that would be of interest to any racing enthusiast. Complete car specs and tips for every track and license are probably of value to anyone looking to better their skill.

Exhaustive? No. But plenty informative (including Polyphony info and history) and definitely worth a buy. Great companion to a great game.

One word: Prima. Just Prima alone dragged down the average quality of U.S. guides. Fortunately, Prima has been bringing it lately. You can pinpoint the time they woke up with the Halo 2 and Jak 3 guides.

I'm amazed it came out at all. I was told from a very reliable source that they were still looking for content and screens for it as late as February 1, 2005.

Also, who was responsible for the original Metal Gear Solid guide? I have it still, and it says it's buy "Millennium Publishing" but I've never seen another guide by these guys and this one is SPECTACULAR.

Yeah it's by the former Gamefan guys who ran the Gamer's Rebublic magazine. I think they did a few more guides after that, but the MGS one was the best.

Yea, a pretty good one too. Better than this as far as car tuning, etc.

Prima sucks hard. Goddamn, their KOTOR guide was the biggest waste of money ever. Brady is better but still lacking.
