Hey, to each his own. The only truly impressive next-gen games that I've seen out of both camps are PGR3, Gears of War and Heavenly Sword. There was the FPS from Insomniac (I-8) too, but I'm not sure if that was real time or not.
It's entirely possible that I'm setting my standards too high, though.

I love the bit where it blows the sky scraper up.
It's a bit too fast to catch some of the details when the video is playing though; slow it down a little and it looks fabulous.

I fully expect the game to improve, and the same can probably be said of Project Force, too. However, that said, I feel that animation for something biological is going to be far more difficult to produce than, say, a mech stomping around a city.
Edit: That .gif that Wax Free just posted does highlight some impressive visuals, though. Explosions look nice.

Thanks. The explosions and smoke effects are very cool. When I saw similar effects in the Killzone trailer I really hoped that they could be pulled off. That this is obviously very early makes more very happy.Wax Free Vanilla said:

Pics were utter garbage. Sub-Chrome Hounds, and I ripped that game to bits. In motion, a definite step up. But From Software ain't that good with graphics, and it kinda shows. I will say one thing though, those smoke effects were fucking sweet-ass. The only thing that had me interested in the trailer. Otherwise, dull bg and dull bots. But it's FS, so I don't expect much. :? PEACE.
I-8 @ E3 looked like crap...plain and simple. Nice particle effects with the smoke and stuff, and clearly a ton of guys on screen, but very bland, with very crummy bgs and some underwhelming visuals all around. It was early, but it definitely showed. Hope they had a better version of that at this presser, but I doubt it. And again, Project Force looks night and day in those screens and vids. But it's still the worst thing shown today IMO. PEACE.

Besides the number of guys on screen, it looked like a current-gen PC game. A high-end game, but a PC game none the less. It's early. It's gonna improve. But I'll call a spade a spade, and seeing that big, spiderlike monster was embarassing IMO. The game looks like ass. But it's not like I'm ripping the actual game, just the current form it's in. Insomniac owns. That game should look killer when it's done...which should be a ways away. PEACE.dark10x said:
