What exactly looks crap about it? It's difficult to tell just how good it looks from such a short video, but it seems to look pretty damn nice, as far as I can tell. Certainly can't pass judgement, though. At the very least, it seemed to MOVE well...which is something a lot of 360 games seem to be forgetting (what, people are going to see more than screenshots of our game?!)...

Perhaps every new game in a specific genre should require a developer to pay a steep license fee for working within that genre... and for every game that's published within that genre, the license fee goes up substantially to the point where developers are forced to make games in different genres.

Well, okay, that's a terrible idea, but still... wish there was some incentive to branch out.

That's a poor attitude to take...

It's not about the genre, it's about the quality of the finished project. So you have a sci-fi shooter...wonderful. If the game is of REALLY high quality, the experience will be excellent. Things become dull and tiresome when games in a specific genre are all poor quality or un-interesting, but it is not the fault of the chosen genre.

Besides, really, how many sci-fi shooters have there been over the last couple years? Not THAT many, really. World War II shooters, for example, have been far more common.

If you can make a Halo quality game, by all means, DO IT...but if you're going to create another Pariah, well, I'm just going to ignore it. We can't really judge this particular game just yet, now can we?
