Project Terra gets a name - Alabaster Dawn

German based Radical Fish Games, the guys behind Crosscode have been busy working on a new game and it finally got a name & an official trailer. It's an action-rpg in the same vein as Crosscode, mechanically and graphically, lots of shared DNA.
Graphics are now a mix of 3D & pixelart, they developed new tools and techniques for the game and each character is actually a rigged model instead of simple frames. This is next-gen pixel art.

Only PC for now, but I think it's safe to expect Xbox, Switch & Playstation versions.

(black pants, red shirt and white hair? The protagonist totally looks like a Helltaker waifu)

Looks awesome! Which reminds me I need to play Crosscode. Demo was cool but I haven't got around to playing the full game yet.

Looks neat, reminded me of Crosscode even before reading the description lol.

They just announced on Steam that the demo is coming next week on September 18.

We wanna remind you real quick that the first public demo of Alabaster Dawn is almost upon us! To be precise, the release day will be the September the 18th, 3pm CET!

They also released an extended trailer for the demo:

Played it for an hour and finished the prologue and tutorial intro.
This is indeed next-gen pixel art. Very intuitive controls and gameplay similar to Crosscode, storytelling is similarly well done.

I wouldn't say no to a remake of Crosscode with this level of visual fidelity and buttery smooth 240fps.

Awesome, I will also try it tonight! I wonder how far out from release the game is with a public demo being released, you never know with indies.

It's a good blend of Chrono Trigger meets Legend of Mana. It's a winner. Got some fighting game tech with the combos with both the physical and ranged attacks similar to Crosscode.

Stopped after beating first boss.

You got some mixups with attacks. Can't wait for the full game.

I just finished the demo and was impressed. It reminded me a bit of Ys Oath in Felghana and the dungeon section of Zelda. Looks really nice too with good animations and the combat has some skill and depth.
It did seem overly generous with the healing ability to avoid death though.

Sad for you as the puzzles are likely returning and were one of the best parts of Crosscode.
One of the best parts…to you. Don't forget, not everyone has the same tastes as you.

Edit - I know other people having opinions is funny, right? Jesus, the amount of passive aggressive, narcissistic clowns on Gaf is crazy nowadays.

I loved crosscode puzzles but they got a bit to overwhelming after a while. It was back to back brutal puzzles with no letting up

I love the puzzles, but maybe they laid it on too thick in places. If you look at negative steam user reviews for Crosscode the puzzles often get mentioned. I'm sure they considered it and it seems Cabbage is there to advice how to solve a puzzle if the player is too thick to figure it out by themselves.
