PS+ June: Killing Floor 2 and Life is Strange

When people are saying the dialogue in Life is Strange is bad, are we talking 13 Reasons Why bad? Because I couldn't stand the characters and the way they talked in that show and stopped after like 2 or 3 episodes.

It's like 15 hours. Each chapter is around 3 hours (there's 5).

I must've speedrun the game then lol. Each "episode" only took me an hour, maybe an hour and twenty minutes for 4 and 5.

It's hella bad.

(But the serious bits are written very well)

Yeah something I've wondered about Life is Strange for a long time is... Uh, is the game amazing despite the awful dialogue? Does it get better later on? Do people who consider the game amazing not mind the dialogue?

Because honestly, it looks goddamn awful, but I still want to try the game (even if I have to buy it myself).

Good month for me - have been meaning to pick up Life is Strange for a while, so particularly pleased. Neon Chrome looks like pure gravy for me.

Tried Life of Stranges first season and really didn't like it but I'm down for trying it again. I think I was being too pessimistic and nitpicky first time around.

KF2 looks fun too - especially coop.

Nice month.

I bet Codemasters is thrilled that Sony is giving away a rally game right before DIRT 4 is released.

I bet that one of the biggest, best known and best reviewed rally franchises won't suffer from an old rally game being "free" on a single last gen console for a single month.

already own LIS, and while KF2 looks fun, i think neon chrome and abyss odyssey are the ones i'm most interested in playing. Good month though.

My friends and I on PS4 are getting tired of OW every night. Might try to convince them on KF2 as I've heard many good things about the series.

The dialogue is not 'awful'. They talk like you'd expect teens to talk. Yeah, some of it is cringey, but teens are plenty cringey sometimes.

This is a great month, although Xbox somehow managed to do an even better month than this. I hope Watch Dogs makes its way to Plus at some point too so I can get some invasion fodder.

Plus and Gold are starting to look like services of actual worth instead of being just a mandatory online play fee.

Uh-uh. They talk like how a team of French developers writing a video game about American youth think teenagers talk. Which is, not quite like them at all. Though later episodes do get better.

I think the game is overated, it's good but not amazing.

KF2 is one of the best online shooters I've played in years. The community is rather small so hopefully should see a large boost once this is available on PS+. Deserves to do better, also free content!! No season pass needed.

If you have an interest in Life Is Strange, download the free first episode now (or at least at some point before the refresh happens). There's a chance it might work like Tales from the Borderlands did this month. Essentially, by downloading the free chapter, you officially own the game according to PSN. When the refresh happens, you end up getting the season pass instead of the full game. As DLC (which the season pass is) is not considered to be locked behind your PS+ account, it's always yours, regardless of if your PS+ lapses. That's what happened with Tales from the Borderlands with me, and I assume what will happen with Life is Strange. You own the full game for free, no strings attached!

Cool tip, will definitly try that then!

EDIT: is there even a trial for the ps4 version?, can only find the trial for the ps3 version on eu psn!
EDIT2_ just had to search for the free content, wierdly enough the ps3 version has a version called episode 1 trial or similar when the ps4 version is just called episode 1.

PSA: Life is Strange is one of those games that hella bugs out if left in rest mode, making the game hella un-smooth. If it gets stuttery just quit and relaunch it.

Also it's one of the best games of the last few years. Enjoy!

Was gonna pick up Killing Floor 2 soon, glad to get it as a PS+ title! Already own Life is Strange, but awesome game for people that don't own it yet.

good month for me thanks to life is strange. So many people I know rate it high so looking forward to playing it myself :)

It's like a sci-fi 13 Reasons Why. I enjoyed both, though. Maybe you're just hella old ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I bet Codemasters is thrilled that Sony is giving away a rally game right before DIRT 4 is released.

Sony doesn't put games on PS+ without the consent of the publisher. It requires contracts and such.

Sony also doesn't determine sales prices for games from other publishers, despite people getting upset with them on a regular basis thinking they do so.

The people saying the dialogue is awful I don't know how they are judging story based video games. If they are using the large majority of games as comparison, I don't know how you could say awful.

The dialogue isn't awful. Try to immerse yourself in how the characters in this setting and age talk instead of preemptively setting yourself up to dislike it because it's different.

Well after buying Life is Strange on the Xbox (digital sales ftw), I recently picked up the physical LE for PS4 (wanted the cd soundtrack). I'm still going to FINALLY renew my PS+ subscription (subscription ended last September, failed to renew it because 1) no cheap PS wallet money deals were advertised in Australia 2) None of the free games since have made me want to renew it). Will be buying a new 12 month member ship just to get the digital version of Life is Strange!

All I need now is the pc version to complete the holy trinity.

There is some of that, but most of the dialogue feels natural. Take it from someone who spends all day talking to teenagers, the dialogue is not awful, it's actually quite well done. Some of the slang they use is West coast slang too, so depending where you live you might not hear it.

If I didn't already own Life Is Strange, that would be the only game I'd bother with. Wish they had gave Alienation up for North America. Sheesh.

LiS and KF2 is both not available on Saudi Arabia store,so they replaced LiS with jamestown plus and no comment on KF2 replacement.

Yes and there's a level of what I took as some very intentional awkwardness between the two main characters as they
reconnect after a long time apart and for the majority of their teenage years
.

Killing Floor is great but I already own it, so poor ps4 month for me.

Need to look more into the PS3 / Vita titles, but looks alright

Ok, after playing Nier I had Persona 5 on my radar, but after reading this thread I will give Life is Strange a shot.

From what I've seen of the show, laughably worse.
