Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (or demo for FFXII, whichever you want) 11/15

MagnaCarta 11/08

Mario and Luigi: PiT 11/28
928290_67347.jpg

which would prolly be your pick?

I would prolly go with
1. DQVIII
2. Suikoden Tactics
Ditch the rest

They all interest me, but Wild ARMs and Dragon Quest take precedence, with DQ8 slightly taking lead

You should just label all RPGs for this month

Mario & Luigi 2!

Im buying DQVIII but none of the other RPG's. They dont interest me and Ice still got other games that need finsihing such as DDS2 :D . I have exams too, so that will just delay everything.

After the draught comes a onslaught :(
I can't buy them all.. time to make a list.. again!

? I thought Suikoden Tactics was a PSP game..but it's not!
Right... when Twelve was originally announced, everyone put two and two together and thought the registration of Suikoden Tactics in the US was for that game. I think that's where you're remembering PSP from.

Have no idea what '12' is. I guess it's due to the Suikoden 1 and 2 thing being on PSP, I thought Suiko Tactics was on PSP too..Suikoden 5 is for the PS2 and not PS3, right?

yeah suiko 5 for ps2

Suikoden 5? I have yet to play my copy of Suikoden 3, never really went that far past the kickass intro and haven't played 1 or 2, so I really want the PSP versions to come here.

is the soundtrack in the Wild Arms remake intact? I loved that soundtrack.

DQVIII and Mario and Luigi are definite buys for me.

WHAT CHOICE YOU FOOL!!?

either buy DQ8 or pay $50 for a demo of FFXII

there's nothing else to think about!

If I find myself going out to buy DQ8, I'm just going to open up my copy of Dragon Warrior VII instead and save myself 50 clams.

Haven't been interested in Final Fantasy since IX.

Still catching up on my backlog, so none right away, though I'm definitely interested in DQ VIII. I think I still have a year-old pre-order on WACode:F, too, so I guess that's mine as well ;)

Might pick up Mario & Luigi 2 sometime, depending on how it turns out.

As for Suikoden.... well, I've probably made my feelings about that series clear already ;)

the Wild Arms remake may be good, but im quite sure it wont be better than the original. You cant beat a perfect 2D game.

There we go.

Don't really buy stuff sealed unless I buy it at a store. Otherwise, don't really care.

It's about 50-70% new, although most of the songs are generally in the same vein as previous ones, or otherwise fit their purpose. And all the music is great.

For example, Zed's awesome theme from the original ("Oops...") is gone, but his new one ("I Hate but Love") is a fucking awesome song that actually fits his character better. There are few down notes ("To The Sea of Stars" no longer has the neat whistling), and you might want to steel yourself for the final battle theme (it's a fairly decent j-pop piece, but nothing as rad as the original).......but overall, the soundtrack is just as awesome as the original, and in some places quite a bit better.

There's also a shitload of new battle themes, too. There's two regular battle themes (each mixes of the original battle theme), the regular boss theme, a battle theme for each of the Quarter Knights ("Mad Poet" is great), one for Golem battles, one for Mother, a final battle theme or two, and a few more possibly (one for the arena, I think, and another for Ragul Ragula, and then one for Jane I think)

Some of the new dungeon themes are pretty amazing, too ("Way of Illusion" is nice, and "Conquering the Darkness" fucking rocks). .

Also, and the thing that should sell anyone on Wild Arms ACF.....ENDGAME SPOILERS, NON-PLOT BUT WHATEVER:
Zed joins your party, woo

I swore a good portion of songs were remixes of older material and then also new material like you posted. Maybe my memory is fuzzy.

I just hate stickers. I need to go to the TRU Black Friday clearance just to get some extra game cases.. I'll throw away all the extra copies of Syphon Filter: Omega Strain and keep the cases for if I ever find a copy of Gitaroo-Man somewhere...

30-50% is a good portion, isn't it? And I think a lot of the songs are very close to being remixes, but are more like new songs that were heavily inspired by the original songs...

Wow, until reading this thread I didn't even know Alter Code F had golem battles. That's pretty sweet ... how come I never heard about it before? Was this publicized at all?

Seriously, folks, the Kawazu stigma does not apply here. Tons of power-customization, tons of freedom, beautiful environments, great music, fast & fun battles, plus everything is intuitive and well-explained. This is classic RPGism.

I'll be getting

Since the artbook comes with all copies of Magna Carta, I'm going to hold off on buying that until later.
