Did any of you buy any of the compilation discs that were so prevalent on the 7th gen consoles? Usually they were just HD rush jobs of PS2 games (Prince of Persia), but occasionally the quality really came through (Ratchet and Clank). I've recently been buying them up, and am sort of now retroactively impressed with the value contained even on the crappy ones.
Sure, sometimes things like multiplayer were cut, but there were often developers commentaries, 3D implementation (yes, I still have a 3D TV), documentaries, etc. And, contrary to now -where we're lucky to get a Steamworld compilation disc- they were prolific.
Here's a running list just of the ones I've picked up (most for under $10):
Zone of Enders
Ratchet and Clank
Splinter Cell
Jak and Daxter
Sly Cooper
Tomb Raider (the sequel trilogy with Underworld)
Orange Box
House of the Dead 2/3
God of War 1 & 2
God of War PSP Collection
Silent Hill
Devil May Cry
Dragonball Z Budokai
Killzone
Any more of note that I've missed? Any of these that you really enjoyed? Or that you'd like to see on 9th gen? I'd love a "The Darkness Duology" upgrade, or maybe a "Skate" trilogy.
(Note: I suppose Halo: MCC or maybe Tony Hawk 1&2 are the most recent attempt at this level of generosity on a physical disc.)
