PS3 Home Official Thread

They said that 1.3 was supposed to make us log in faster too... I'll believe it when I see it.

Yeah, same :lol

I don't know if it's just me, but right after selecting Home the screen goes black and stays like that for quite a long time before PlayStation Home white logo comes up with the loading bar under it. Is this the same for everybody?

Yep.

It takes forever on that black screen. It didn't used to tale this long either.

GQME DEBQ 4RG3

Enter this into Code Redeem on the PSN Store or PSN account management quickly to get a Gravestone Couch and Gravestone something or another that I'm forgetting.

Dunno where the hell it comes from, but I found it randomly. Maybe 10000 uses or something, so if you're interested in free Home stuff that's "limited" you might want to snap this into your PC/PS3 quickly.

You're welcome.

And I can't wait for the Uncharted 2 space. The game looks interesting. But...

I WISH THERE WAS THINGS TO DO IN MY PRIVATE SPACE ALREADY. AHHHHH.

Give us a Chess Board, Poker Table, Mankala Table. Making a "private space instance" for the game can't be that hard to do on the PS3 that's hosting the apartment. :/

thanks for the code, Add me, neojehuty we can hang out on home sometime.

Every once in a while I come into this thread to take Home's pulse. I mean, I never go into Home except out of curiosity to see if any improvements have been made. Once I'm in, I usually wander over to the mindless dancing area and stand there for a minute and then log off. :lol

Seriously, is Home alive and well and is it just me that finds it pretty utterly useless still? Every time I go in there, it makes me wonder how Sony could have better spent the resources into improving PSN in some way that is more relevant.

If you think Home is nothing but people dancing then you really haven't been paying attention. The list of games that Home has is now almost too long to list. People find use out of Home in different ways. Some people like to socialize, some people like to decorate their person and apartment, some people like to play the games. A part of me just like checking out the 3D architecture.

Gamers seem to have a hard time enjoying something that doesn't have a goal so I'll tell you how to find Home less "useless": Get every free item that you can. Just about every Home game has free rewards associated with it. Find out what they are and get them all. Whether its the Siren space, saucer pop, poker, or just finding the free easter egg rewards that are scattered about Home.

Even though I don't socialize I'm awlays keeping tabs on Home because its always evolving, adding new things, new games, new spaces, free rewards. It's slow going, but I think in a couple of years time it will be completely different from what we have now and every step is one in the right direction IMO.

Agree. Well said. Some people simply don't get it.

But I think all Sony needs to do to make the hardcore interested in Home is adding trophies to it. Imagine if every content update came with extra trophies with it. :lol

That, plus some persistent MMO-like meta game would do wonders.

How's the tekken 6 space?

There is a Tekken 6 Space?

*reads PS Blog*

Oh, I should check that out.

--

As an aside, the camera feature is really useful. Well done HOME staff! Something that I never thought would be useful is pretty cool.

Is Store access improved as they claim?

Wasn't there a Street fighter space as well as a luxury home apartment.

That was some steamy bullshit. It's as slow as ever for me and I have a very good connection. Noticed little to no change from before. And loading into the service isn't really 'faster', it's just that they finally made it so it wouldn't freeze on 'downloading items' when you first log in. After 1.3 it would stay stuck there for 30 secs to 1 min, but now it doesn't stay stuck there. Still takes quite a bit of time to log in. I didn't really see improved loading anywhere. Wardrobe is still slow as hell too. I'm not really sure what 1.3 was supposed to do. Good thing it was only 6 MB.

PS Blog says Street Fighter, Tekken 6, Uncharted 2, and the Penthouse. I went to the Mall and the penthouse is there for 5 bucks even though EU got it months ago and free iirc.

Wow that Uncharted 2 Home space looks like the N64 port of the game.

Assets used in the game my ass.

That's exactly what I was thinking! I was like, Hell to the No! Don't insult ND with 'in game assets' It looks like in-game ass.

But it is the biggest home space (Memory wise) at 41 MB. I think they did really good for 41 MB

it's decoration only. Did you expect PSP emulation? :P

nah i had no idea what to expect. so its an ornament?

anyway i like home. the movie theatre and the buzz quiz place are my favorites. the theatres have some nice content. wouldnt hurt to update them more often but i still enjoy what i see there

I can't even find the last piece of the goddamn mask, despite being all over the damn place. And the fortune hunter game is always occupied.

Hot Shots Golf still isn't fixed.

And my Alcove from Siren's mini-game is still gone.

Useless update. :|

Yeah, it took me a while to find all seven :/

HSG is still borked? Fucking slack.

And I'm not going to unlock my alcove again. That took me forever the 1st time.

There's a lot of Zombie/Halloween ish up in the mall. Witches, Wizards, skeleton costumes, the works. And normal shit made it there too.

Was messing with the camera the other night for the first time. It's pretty fun.

No offense DMeisterJ, but you all the shots with people in them suck since they're not even fully loaded/rendered yet. Other than that nice shots, beautiful dagger too. :D

I was trying to wait for them to fully render, but it takes like five minutes! And then I noticed once they are out of your sight, if you look back at them, you have to wait form them to fully render again! Surely there has to be some way to keep them fully rendered while not in sight. Apparently not though. x_x

Anyone knows how to play that game in the uncharted 2 space?

It's confusing. I think you just move around the map and if a treasure is nearby you will be notified (otherwise you won't be able to see them) also you get points for taking out other players.

Apparently if you wear SF4 costumes in the space and do a certain action you can perform the characters moves. Like wearing a Ryu costume lets you do a Hadoken.

Couch Coffin & Gravestone

Is the gravestone under decorations or where? I found the couch, and its pretty cool.

But we desperately need some better more relaxed animations for sitting in Home. Like a lean back with arms on the side.

Beter yet, allow for Sixaxis lean for the torso so you lean back or forward a bit and turn head/view left right while sitting.

gotta admit the werewolf costume is quite impressive (and relatively cheap, 1,99 euros)

Yeah that's badass.

The LOD system is pretty stupid. I have a 18gb(?) cache which is the biggest one and still I get mad pop-in. Fix this shit, sony.
