As much as I hate myself whenever I use this thing, I do occasionally go into Home from time to time and have had a burning question for a while now. Where in the world do I buy a pair of glasses in this thing? I've checked every story I could find, but it's always just goofy gimmick stuff.

Look for like the Tina Fey style or something similar. I saw somebody once with glasses like that, but when I asked they had no idea where they had gotten them from.
A friend of mine has the answer for you:

Don't know if this is the style you're looking for, but they're close to Tina Fey's.

You can find them in the clothes store at the Mall, look for the Wilma (Waldo's girlfriend) costume. They're $1,49 (just the glasses) lol, but worth it.

(: I hope that helps!

You can also just go to the 'threads' store in the mall and then threads again, and go to female and there should be a big icon for eyewear. You can 'try on' glasses there.

If you just want an idea of what each region has check out:http://www.alphazone4.com/
This website has pretty much everything available on home, and some things that haven't been released yet. :lol

Are you talking about regular trophies for games that are played within Home? If so, then that would be a good idea. I could envision some of the "bigger" games in Home (for example, Sodium One) benefiting from trophies that could be carried over to the main trophy list outside of Home.

It was phrased pretty loosely but I was under that impression.

BTW last holiday season's content for SCEE's Home was great fun. New entertaining minigames almost new day and you got tons of free stuff out of it. The winter space was jam-packed every evening, great fun. Hopefully they do something similar this year.

EU Home this week: Oh my god, Fantasy styled minigolf :lol

Say farewell to the gamescom event space tonight, as the space will be removed during maintenance.

Original post (with trailer for the golf game)

That trailer looks really impressive!

It's also announced for US:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010...en-playstation-homes-newest-full-length-game/

I like to think of Dragon’s Green as a hybrid of mini-golf and pinball – it’s not just about sinking the ball in as few strokes possible. If you really want to succeed in Dragon’s Green, you’ll need to really explore the game and try different things. The game is designed to be played over and over again and still present players with different challenges. Dragon’s Green represents a big step forward in the type of gaming experiences you can expect in PlayStation Home. We hope you enjoy it!

edit: Interesting pricing model:

$1.99 for a 30-day subscription; $4.99 for the full unlock.

(first 3 levels are free)

btw.: the Heavy Rain theater shows 3 or so new Making ofs (otherwise included in the new Move Edition along with 6 others, I think only 3 were in the original game). Though DO NOT go in there if you ever intend to play the game, one of these videos is simply a recap of the overall story and twists... (though some details are interesting if you finished the game, like # explicitly hinting who the body was in the power station).

EA sports space was removed COMPLETELY either today or yesterday. It was there last week, but it's gone.

I sad. I only went there for the Poker, really, but at least it was a free game + rewards despite being buggy. :/ SCEA should give out the Personal space Poker table (and update it for Texas Hold'em) for those that played at the EA space for a week or so.

While the Godfather space is now packed for the first time in the three months before the EA sports space launched, it doesn't feel the same at 9/10 of the time a douche will go all in trying to end the game within 2 hands. Fucking stupid.

Or SCEA should price-drop the "High Stakes: On the Vegas Strip" PSN game. :|

That said, PS Home just lost a HUGE reason I kept going back to it.

Yeah, I know only 5 people on GAF care. Still need to vent.

We’re updating the Shopping Centre this week, as LOOT move in with their own store. Replacing the Diesel store, the LOOT store is a massive vault where you’ll be able to pick up everything LOOT related. Launching concurrently with the new store is LOOT’s arcade game Cabin Boy, which can be added to any personal space. Even better, the furniture piece is now available in two styles to choose from! Cabin Boy challenges you to a retro game involving juggling multiple tasks – such as catching fish – to post the highest score you can. And keep an eye out for more to come soon!

Also available in PlayStation Home this week is a new hairstyle from Lockwood. For furnishing your apartment there’s a pair of wonderfully detailed Sun and Earth lamps. From Sodium there’s new teleporter pads that you can place in your personal space to get from one side to the other faster than ever before.

Looking for something new to decorate your personal space and a fan of Street Fighter 4? Good news this week, then, as the Street Fighter 4 statuettes have arrived! There’s a huge collection of characters to choose from – or collect them all!

Check out Alter Ego this week for a range of Top Gun outfits, including flight suits of the iconic characters Maverick, Goose and Iceman alongside khaki and dress uniforms. Finally, Dead Rising 2 shuffles its way into the stores, with a selection of clothing and unique weapon ornaments.

got another email about another BETA for HOME, tbh dont have a clue what this one is about but ill get back with any new stufffirst test is this Weds 22nd Sep then Wed 6th Oct __________________
This is the best info i have in regards to Home 2.0. I can't seem to find anything on it on google but hopefully they fix Home to the point where seamless environments are possible. Is it really that hard? As I said before, the rumor has it that this beta will have streaming media, streamlined chating system, and more streamlined shit...I doubt it thought.

I wonder why EA disappeared. Maybe they'll be back with minigames they can charge for.

Someone mentioned/rumored a couple of weeks ago in a separate thread it was a dispute with EA over the revenue scheme with PSN or something along those lines. Unrelated to Home, but they pulled their PSN stuff as a bargaining chip.

This week's EU update.

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/09/29/playstation-home-heroes-and-villains/

The PlayStation Home weekly update blog post – coming to you this week from San Francisco! I’m here for meetings with the American team to discuss a range of future initiatives. Unfortunately that means I’m a little displaced in time from the EU team and writing with jetlag, so please excuse any lack of specific details this week.

SCEE and SCEA branches communicating? Get out!

we have our first batch of the great costumes that have been released in America recently. Whether you’re into fighting crime as a masked hero, or causing mayhem as a villain, we’ve got you (spandex) covered! On the hero side there’s Captain Inflame-o, The Epsilon Viper and Nocturne, facing off against the villainous Wild Scarlet, Red Raven and Cyborg. Keeping an eye on all of them from a dirty alleyway is the Hobo… deadly assassin in disguise, or just a man down on his luck?

The Robo Goalie returns this week to PlayStation Home, and he refuses to admit summer is over! Where better to keep the summer alive than on your very own SFRGBT!! Robo Goalie returns with a kit bag stuffed full of new goodies, and he’s giving them away to those with the skill to score the most consecutive goals. Play in your island apartment to earn 4 new rewards, or play the version in the Shopping Centre where you can pick up 9 rewards – the most challenging being the apartment itself (if you’ve not bought it from Estates)!

Big changes are coming to the Shopping Centre this week. Due to there being more demand for store space than we had supply, our builders have been hard at work expanding the Shopping Centre with a second area. Join us this week for the grand opening of several new stores! The new stores arriving this week are Billabong, Lockwood, nDreams and LucasArts. These newest stores bring all of your favourite content together in easy-to-find locations. Billabong and Lockwood open with new content as well!
Check out the Billabong store first, where you’ll find a fantastic new range of clothing. Ladies, you’ll find the Late Night Fleece hoodie (in three colours) and two new dress styles: the Cosmia dress in red, blue or black, and the Lucy dress in blue or red. For the guys there’s shirts, hoodies, hats, boardshorts, and finally a wetsuit. Enjoy surfing? Take a look at the Pro Surfboard available to show off in your apartment.

Check out the latest fashions from Lockwood in their new store in the original Shopping Centre. This week there’s three new hairstyles each for male and female, so if you’ve been looking for a new style they just might have the one you’re after.

The blog is having problems right now.

Home has definitely made an improvement from its humble beginnings. I wish they would add jumping, running (not that slow trot) and other interactive actions.

Helping you get into the spirit of things, there’s a wide range of costumes and other items available from the crypt in Home Square. If zombies are more your thing then check out the newest Burn Zombie Burn zombie outfit, with pumpkin hat. There’s a lot more to be had in the crypt store, including funky contact lenses from Lockwood and scary party props from nDreams.

The latest update to the Audi Home Terminal arrives tomorrow, and brings the Audi Wörthersee Tour 2010 to life in PS Home. Here’s a message from Audi sharing all the details on this update sure to excite car enthusiasts:

The Audi Home Terminal opens its doors to its own virtual Wörthersee collection. For the uninitiated the Wörthersee is a car extravaganza for GTI fans held each year in Austria, bringing together the great and the good of car customisation.
The new Audi A1 played a leading role at the 29th Wörthersee Tour. Innovative adhesive film designs, vibrant paint finishes as well as exterior add-on parts and a matching interior transformed a total of seven models of the new compact car into spectacular motto vehicles.

5099166551_1a45f63661.jpg

We’ve taken some of these designs from the real world and will be placing them in the Audi Home Terminal for you to experience over the coming months, along with some themed clothing to accompany the designs, available for free on entry to the Audi Home Terminal and in the Audi Shop.
Enjoy!
Finally, Alter Ego has taken delivery of the latest range of heroic fashion this week, including Magnetic Man (beware of kitchen products … oh, too late!) and Punk Chick outfits.

From a recent interview with Outso, the developers of Sodium One (among other things).
Nothing concrete about Sodium Two apart from some teasing.

Originally from PSLifestyle but the site is banned here for some reason so you can dig up the full thing yourself if you're interested. It's pretty lengthy actually.

What can we expect from Sodium Two?

JR: I can’t say much about Sodium Two as we don’t want to spoil the surprise! Suffice to say we’re very excited about it. Players can expect more of the quality arcade style gaming provided by Sodium One with an interesting twist.

Man, the US Halloween event fucking sucks.

Pretty much because it is.

WHY THE HELL DO THEY NOT USE THE QUEE SYSTEM?! They implimented that over a YEAR ago and hardly ANY GODDAMN GAMES use it. It's so pants-on-head stupid that you have to REALLY wonder what is going through the space builders/game builders minds at times.

Speaking of popular games, Lockwood Publishing are excited to announce that over a million gamers have played through Sodium! As a token of appreciation they’re offering a selection of fine gifts and offers to the whole PlayStation Home community. Whether you’re a battle-hardened tank pilot or expert bartender there’s something for you this week. Head to the Sodium Hub this week for a golden “Thank You” reward, additional earnings for Sodium bartenders, extended free-access to the Sodium Salt Shooter, and even discounted Pilots Jackets!

Not too shabby.

EU Home this week: uuuuh radio?

EU PS blog said:
Exciting news for music lovers and owners of The London Pub this week, as tomorrow The London Pub Radio (LPR) hits the airwaves – free to all London Pub owners! Every month LPR will be bringing you new featured bands and artists. First up from LPR are four tracks from Barney, Ben, Graham and Dan: a four-piece London-based band known as ‘RedderStare’. They describe their sounds as “analogue, live, raw and a bit messy, largely because they are all of those things”. Find out more about the band here.

5142756283_54e02f1242.jpg

That’s not all, though … also launching tomorrow will be the LPR website where aspiring musicians will be able to submit their own music for a chance to have their tracks played to an audience of thousands in London Pubs around the virtual world. The LPR team will choose an artist or band to feature each month. Further details are available on the LPR website, however the most important rules to keep in mind are that submissions must be your own original music and you must not have a signed record contract or publishing deal.
In the Shopping Centre this week, you’ll find a new range of Lost Planet 2 costumes and ornaments. Look for the Jungle Pirate and Nevec Soldier costumes – available as individual pieces or bundles, for both male and female – in Alter Ego under the Capcom section. We’ll also have Scott Pilgrim t-shirts available for fans of the franchise.

Finally, Home Square will be returning to normal following a hair-raising couple of weeks as an eerie fog-immersed playground for all sorts of monstrous creatures … and the odd pumpkin.

Home 1.4 client update.

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/11/05/playstation-home-client-update-1-4/

Wardrobe Improvements
Clearly, this has been one of the most requested areas for improvement of the PS Home experience for some time. Especially in recent weeks, we’ve seen numerous calls for improvements to the wardrobe. I’ve had to bite my virtual tongue for some time as the development team has been busy working away on bringing sweeping improvements to the wardrobe for 1.4, including the following:
The ability to mark items you use commonly as “Favourite” items – making them easier to relocate.
Newly acquired items will be marked to make them easy to locate. This marking will also appear on categories that contain new items.
Options for filtering and sorting items have been added, giving you more control over which items you see and how you see them.
Most importantly, however, there is a new “Storage” section added to the wardrobe where you can place rarely used items. For those with a lot of items in their wardrobe, placing items into storage will result in your wardrobe loading faster, and make it easier for you to browse your main wardrobe. Items placed in storage can be quickly restored to your main wardrobe should you need them.

New Group Feature and Chat Improvements
The new Group feature will allow up to 8 people to join together in a group. Groups have dedicated voice and chat channels that work regardless of where in Home each group member is located. New voice and chat channels will also be made available for clubs, making communication with your club friends much easier.
At this point, I suspect you’ve noticed my use of the phrase “voice chat” and stopped reading anything else. That’s right: 1.4 is expanding your voice chat options. Both the Group and Club chat channels will have access to voice chat, making it easy for you to chat up a storm with your friends no matter where you are in Home, or what you are doing at the time. Me personally, I think the Group voice chat is just perfect for trash talking during a hand of Brimstone Poker or a frame of Pool…

Launches november 11th.

Nice. Finally voice chat. And for whole club? That is awesome, it will make them far more useful. Now we just need to be members of more than one club.

I wonder if voice chat in Home is a precursor/test for XMB voice chat. That said, I wish they would bring clubs to XMB as a whole. So we can have friends, but also memberships to clubs for games or whatever.

They failed to mention in the 1.4 summary how the wardrobe is totally rebuilt and is much faster to load. Your character is hovering in front of an animating background if I remember correctly that loads instantly.

There's a couple of other points that's just as important (more so?) than the ones listed imo assuming they make it into the official 1.4 release.

Initial menupad menu is redesigned. It's now a circle of options that trails into the screen in Z depth. Wardrobe, Navigator and Settings.
Realistic looking lizard pet!
Store access directly in Navigator meaning the PS Store overlays pop up from there.
Loading screen tips and news.
Holding Start brings you directly to Navigator.

Nice stuff. Are you in a beta?

Full 1.40 Change log. Some big stuff:

Groups
● You can now create groups in Home.
● Groups can consist of up to 8 different people.
● You may invite your friends and anyone in the same space as you to your group.
● Groups work no matter where anyone is in Home – different public spaces, personal spaces or club houses.
● Groups have their own voice and text chat channels that allow all group members to communicate with each other wherever they are in Home.

The Chat Log
● The chat log has two tabs “Text” and “Voice”. The text tab handles all text chat while the voice tab handles all voice chat.
● Communication in the chat log has been separated into multiple chat channels.
- Local: The usual proximity-based text chat in a space.
- Group: Text and voice chat through the group channel. Works between all group members anywhere in Home.
- Club: Text and voice chat through the club channel. Works between all club members anywhere in Home.
- Things to note: You can only be in one club channel at a time. If you are in multiple clubs then you can switch the channel between each one.
● Each channel has its own prefix and colour scheme so that you can tell them apart in the chat log and understand where chat is coming from.
- As part of this change we have removed the display of custom pop-up colours from the chat log.
● The label on each tab is coloured and prefixed according to the channel you will send chat to if you type or speak.
● Text
● Voice: The voice tab lists all of the people in your current voice channel along with a status icon which indicates any of the following:
- Currently Speaking
- Has a microphone enabled
- Does not have microphone enabled
- Blocked, ignored or muted
● In addition to the standard menu options there are special slash commands for switching channel or sending private messages quickly:
- “/local” or “/l”
-/l hello
- “/group” or “/g
- /g howdy”
- “/club” or “/c”
- /c greetings
- “/privatemessage”, “/private” or “/pm”
- In the case of a private message you also need to specify who the message will go to. For example:
- /pm <name of friend> how are you?
- There is a quick reply command to respond to your most recent private message with the “/reply” or “/r” command. For example:
- /r I’m fine thank you

Wardrobe
● We have replaced the old wardrobe background that was tied to the Harbor Studio apartment with a simpler, more neutral one that loads more quickly.
● You can now tag “favourite” items in the wardrobe.
● It is possible to filter the wardrobe view to only display favourite items, purchased items, rewards or recently acquired items.
● Each category in the wardrobe can have the items in it sorted by when they were acquired and when they were last used.
● New items will have a ‘new’ icon to make them easier to spot (as will categories that contain new items).
● There is a storage section into which you can put items that you don’t use very often. Putting some of your items into storage will mean:
- The wardrobe loads faster (and depending on how much is being stored Home may load faster as well).
- There will be fewer items to scroll through in each category.
● You can browse your storage section and swap items back into your main wardrobe whenever you want to.
- You can keep a maximum of 500 items in your main wardrobe at any one time. Any additional items will go into storage automatically.
- When you load Home for the first time after the patch we will automatically put some of your oldest items into the storage trunk if you happen to have more than 500 items already.
● There is a new “Both Ears” category in the wardrobe.
● Within each category the first option will keep your current selection.

Character status
● Your character can now be set into one of several different statuses:
- Normal
- Happy
- Sad
- Angry
- Confused
- Busy
- Wants help
- Wants to chat

Improvements
● Setting a status will update the information in your character label and in some cases may change the expression on your character’s face and your idle animations.
Important Note: The default “Normal” face no longer has a smile on it. Instead the players must select “Happy” to get the smile back.
● We have added a simplified carousel of three main options (Navigator, Wardrobe and Settings) to the first page of the Menu Pad.
- All of the existing menus can be found under “Settings” now.
- The carousel view can be turned off in the settings if you wish.
● The Navigator can now be accessed directly in Home by pressing and holding START without having to go through the Menu Pad.
● Extra icons have been added to the side of each space in the Navigator to indicate if this space is a favourite and whether it has any friends in it.
● Now the player will have a direct access the screen to purchase the latest recommended avatar items from the Navigator instead of transiting the shopping mall.
Character labels
● There are extra options in the Menu Pad and Home Safe Screen for setting preferences as to how much of the new character labels you want to see.

Cross game invites
● Home now fully supports cross game invites.
● If one of your friends is online but not in Home you can use the Menu Pad or Navigator friend list to invite them to join you.
● When the friend accepts the invitation they will automatically load Home and be transported to your location.

Loading screen
● The loading screen has been simplified.
● Helpful tips are now displayed while you are loading.
General
● Access to Home is now restricted by parental control level (set on the console) as well as age (set on the PSN account) in each region.
● The audio system has been optimised and improved.
● Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound is now correctly supported.
● Added support for Polish fonts.
● Game camera collision has been improved so that there should be fewer instances of it cutting through objects or sticking out of the scene.
● The majority of videos in Home now use progressive download and so should start playing much more quickly while they download in the background.
● The anti-aliasing has been improved. This should mean higher quality shadows and a slightly better framerate.
● General optimisations to improve performance and framerate.
● Log in times have been improved once more.

● You can now zoom into screens while seated.
● The shadows and lighting in the Harbour Studio apartment have been improved.
● We have added some dynamic lights to the Harbour Studio apartment which can be turned on and off with a switch by the door.

I wonder if they'll ever let game devs use Home Avatars for games like Wii & 360 do. Would've been nice to create an avatar for Sports Champions.

Groups have their own text chat channels that allow all group members to communicate with each other wherever they are in Home.

*boner* Now I don't have to "join friends" in the same space to chat with them on Home through text. Very nice upgrade.

That needed to be sorely fixed, so the changes are nice. I just hope the loading is faster and they had a description of the item/reward you got.

● Log in times have been improved once more.

I'll believe it when I see it. They said the same shit last update and it still takes me 10+ minutes to "log in" because of "LOL CHECKING YOUR ITEMS TO MAKE SURE THEY'RE LEGIT!"

MLAA confirmed? :lol

They do under alerts. It gives the name and date when you got the item.

As to speedup, i hope they made it a bit faster too. I think archiving a lot of unused items in the wardrobe should speed stuff up.

That would be awesome.

If only! You'd think, wouldn't you, especially now that the MLAA source code seems to be freely available amongst developers. I rather doubt that Home is hitting the SPUs so hard that there's not enough timeslice left for MLAA, but who knows...

EDIT: That said, really looking forward to the new update :D
