Sony wont be ordering 106million sets of ram chips from samsung..... They will put money down for orders for the following year.

If you think about this, in all honesty theres a chance that nows the best time to announce because of this damn virus. Who knows what the situation might be like in a month. Maybe both MS and Sony said "hey if were gonna reveal this thing, lets do it now before shit gets really crazy". Cant say for sure but i do guarantee that thought was at least considered by both at some level.

Not true at all on two counts.

Biggest customer does not get the lowest price. It all comes down to negotiation. WM and Costco might be the biggest. But not always the best cost.

Also, there's always a certain price that can never go lower. Just because you buy a billion units doesn't mean the price goes from $100 down to 10 cents. The final threshold might be $60.
 
I guarantee alot more of Sony's focus is going to be on VR especially with the early impressions from HFA. I could see alot more hardware specs and features catered to taking advantage of the VR space.

Pretty specs but won't matter that much when price is still not revealed.
I suspect it is gonna be slightly less powerful than XSX on paper, but won't feel any real world difference.

Your reply fits if I said the exact opposite. What did you read from my post that I gave the impression that PS is half assing or not competent? Im saying they saw Xbox reveal and they are going straight away for the kill because obviously they know they have a more powerful piece of HW. You are not gonna make an announcement straight after the competition just to say...hey well we are not as powerful but we aren't bad.

We still can't say that because we don't know whats the PS5 is going to be like. What if it ended more powerful than the XsX? Who knows mate

Your comparison is flawed, Costco/WM whatever that may be are retail chains I reckon, they have a distributor/importer to deal with.
I'm well aware that there's a bottom line a manufacturer won't cross as they need to make profit and deals are part of negotiations.
If you and Sosokrates Sosokrates think person A buys 1 and person B buys 5 that person B is paying the same price as person A then I don't know what to tell ya. :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Well if I'm not mistaken, that was the day that Cerny's presentation was supposed to be done at GDC, which was supposed to run from Yesterday to this Friday. Might also be why MS's full spec reveal was done when it was; these were planned for GDC first but since it's not happening, may as well still release it to the public.

Thankfully this is not another DF video, their series x "analysis" was like a series of "buzzwords" without any criticism beyond the PR they were fed (acting as if every feature was a new invention... yeah, you have to cool down that APU somehow)... If you are to feed us PR, at least do it yourself, make it come from people who are part of your organization.
 
It's about time. Strange that it does seem like they did wait for Microsoft to reveal everything, or maybe it's just a coincidence. They mention "shape the future of games." Hopefully this means we do see some game footage. Spider-Man with ray tracing if I had to guess.
